Anyone live in Ashford?

I'm just wondering how I will get from the train station to the Premier Inn at Eureka Park?

There is a bus which goes direct - anyone know the rough cost of this? I wonder if a taxi would be cheaper? We'd need to do 4 trips (from station to hotel, then hotel to station before DLP and the same after DLP) so it could prove quite costly.

There is a poster Lisa C who lives in Ashford. She did an Ashford thread which I think is in the stickies at the top of the page with all kinds of useful info about Ashford. I'll see if I can find it.

Ive stayed at Eureka park a few times but always with the car so cant help you however I think the station you go to for the Eurostar is different to the normal station so it wont be the same cost.
Im sure someone priced up a taxi from there to Eurostar to be about £6

We stayed at the Premier Inn Eureka Park last September.

A taxi from there to Ashford International was £7.

Just had a read myself & there doesn't seem to be any info re bus prices, taxi was £7.60 but that was almost 2 years ago so may have increased.

Gosh I am sorry I didn't see this earlier! Right lets see....

You are correct in thinking there is a bus that goes to the "park", it's the "E-line". Though to be honest, they stop running in the evening really early so in this case you will either need to a taxi. As stated, they are roughly around £6.00. I'm going to have a look for the bus time table online and link it in when I've posted this.

The station side you want is Ashford International Eurostar Terminal. It's is in fact the same station, but domestic trains have an entrance on one side, and the Eurostar on the other. You can access domestic trains via Eurostar but not vice versa. Can I ask why you have to do a total of eight trips? Is the first lot back and forth, back and forth because of the number of people in your party? Depending on what time you arrive before DLP, the bus may be an advantage, but they all leave from the domestic side, which would mean you walking right around the station.......there is a dayrider ticket you can buy for £3.20 adult and £1.15 per child which will enable you to travel on all stagecoach buses all day. You can swap these around with adults and children to use at different times though

Wow thanks for all your informative advice! I haven't been on here in a few days because I've been ill

So it would seem to work out around the same for the bus (2ad, 1ch) or taxi!

Are there usually taxi's available outside the station? Or can you recommend a reliable firm?

It will be 4 journey's - from station to hotel, from hotel to station - DLP - from station to hotel, from hotel to station (we're staying the night before and the night we get back)

Ah I see - so the dayrider won't be any good! You could still get the bus from the station to the Eureka Park, if you arrive early enough, as I take it you are coming initially by train from the domestic side, so in effect will be on the right side for the bus Then maybe get a taxi to the Eurostar in the morning?? Then taxi back from Eurostar after your holiday and bus it back (if you find it works out cheaper?)

There are taxi's outside for both exits, though to be honest I think there are a lot more on the domestic side. I do prefer Arrow Taxis (01233) 666666 but there are a few firms that all run a good business, it's just really easy to remember that number!!!
