Anyone know why airfare seems higher for 2004?

I've got 2 trips planned; one in August (21 thru 27) and then October 30 thru Nov 7.

The window has opened up for both and I usually book ASAP. Well, from the moment they both opened up they've been $220 round trip from Boston to MCO.

Last year, I watched and August was $200. I've always paid just under $200.

Usually the best deals are when the dates first open up or much later when they have specials or sales...what's up?

I would really like to get at least August bought but just can't bring myself to pay $220 a person.

I guess I'll just have to wait for Jetblue to open up but it seems that will be quite awhile as they're still only booking through April!

This is killing me!!!

Thanks for listening to my vent!;)

$220 is in the realm of what we've paid for about the last year (we either fly from BOS or MHT). Supply is down and demand is up, and that's the explanation at its most basic. Also factor in that they are now again collecting the TSA fees so that adds some $$ to the price. Personally, I would not get hung up on $20 per ticket, and if you prefer to book this far out, go for it. Unless we are traveling at the holidays or other peak periods, I tend to be a late booker. I've never been burned for it, but I know too many people who relied on flt. schedules for planning, and I am all to aware of how often they can change. Also, I do worry with some carriers that they will go belly-up on me and I have no desire to see my $$ in their hands if/when that happens!

Although you have probably already seen that JetBlue finally posted an expanded schedule, I thought I would give you the heads up. It does not go into your second trip but should help you for August. I remember awhile back we were both looking for airfare for the same time frame so I always feel that "looking for the same flight" connection with you!! We are also going in October (19-26), first trip "Home" as DVC members at BWV !!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Thank you! I just checked and there must be something wrong with their website. I can't get it to search for my flights.

I'll keep trying though!

Thanks again!

Thanks.

I finally got it to work. I'm getting $190 per ticket total $570 for 3 passengers.

I'm still waiting for April. For PIT/MCO I get $367 for April 21 to 25. The part that is making it expensive is the Sunday April 25 return. The strange thing is that when you look at the seating charts, most seats are empty for the 7:15pm return on USAir. I'm waiting for it to go down.
