I know that there's a Walt Disney version of Norman Rockwell's "Self Portrait". In the Rockwell version, NR is sitting at an easel, peering into a mirror, then drawing his own image on the canvas. In the Disney version, Walt is sitting at the easel, peering into the mirror, but I believe it's Mickey's image that peers back at him, and it's Mickey that he's drawing on the canvas. We own the NR figurine, and would love to get the Walt Disney one. Does anyone know the real name of this so I can do a search to find it?? Thanks! :)

**UPDATE-Sept 10**

I just wanted to let everyone know that I bought this figurine while on the Disney Magic last week!!! When I saw the price was $65, I thought it was a misprint, but it really was $65!!! It's a beautiful piece, and it's sitting on a shelf next to my Norman Rockwell "Self-portrait". :) (The base is square, not round like in the picture in this thread, and I'm sure it's not part of the "limited edition" which cost $1995, but it's just as beautiful, and is the same size at the piece in the picture. It came with a certificate of authenticity, too).

P.S. The CM on the ship got a brand new for me from the stockroom, and about halfway through the cruise we noticed that the display piece was gone, so I'm sure these sold out!!
I got it home via my carry-on luggage without so much as a scratch. It comes packed in styrofoam that is molded exactly to the piece itself.

I'm pretty sure it's "Self-Portait: Mickey Mouse". Mickey is the artist, but Walt shows up on his canvas. I've seen the print at the art shop near the entrance to Epcot... I'm not finding the print on the web, though.

Here's a scupture version of the artwork:

Self-Portait: Mickey Mouse

Looks a little pricey- this one's listed at $1995.00. :earseek:

It is called Mickey's Self Portrait, and it is Mickey looking into a mirror and drawing Walt onto the canvas.
A couple of years ago my husband bougth me a watch in a shadow box with this on the face of the watch and behind the glass of the shadow box. We purchased it at the World of Disney Store in Downtown Disney.
If you call Disney Merchandising 1-407-363-6200 they may be able to help you find what you want.

I have some cards with the self portrait on it. I bought them at MGM.

I bought it in postcard format in the shop outside the Animation Tour at MGM. Perhaps you could call the Disney Merchandise number?

We have a poster of Self Portrait. We bought it at the Art of Disney in Epcot. We got it a few year ago so I am not sure if they still sell them there or not.

What a great find- right there on your ship, and at a great price, too!

I guess it was just meant to be yours. :teeth:

What the heck??? I have the exact figurine in the picture, round base etc. We bought it at WDW about 7 years ago (not sure which trip it was on so I could be wrong on the time frame). We bought it then for 60 dollars or so. There has to be some misprint on that price of $1995.00. Ours really looks identical. I need to check to see if it says its a limited edition.

OK it isn't identical but very close. Apparantly the limited edition one is bigger too. I have always loved ours and I love even more that we didn't have to spend nearly 2000.00 for it. It may not be a limited edition, but it's mine!
