I would love to hear from anyone who has been during the first two weeks of Oct. We'll be there 9/30 - 10/14/06 (can't wait, can't wait) but I somehow didn't get that Columbus Day Weekend was in there. How crowded will that be? What kinds of waits should we expect in general during that time of year?

Any insight greatly appreciated!

We went the third week of October last year (the week after Columbus Day week) and the crowds were very manageable. Temps were high in the afternoon, but no rain. I think in early October, it's a bit hotter and humid with a little more rain but not like Sept. Columbus Day Weekend should be PACKED, but you'll have really low crowds the other times, especially weekdays.

I don't know when the EPCOT food & wine thing starts, but if it falls during your trip, avoid EPCOT on weekends and go during a weekday. That's what we did and it was great. Have fun!

I think we'll try one of the water parks that weekend and maybe a pool day...

Hopefully, the rest of the trip will be nice and slow!

HI! We were there Oct.6-14 2005. It was SO HOT & HUMID!! But we're not used to that here in Oregon. Columbus weekend was very busy and with Food & wine, Epcot seemed unusually busy.
All that being said, we have nothing to compare it to--- that was our first visit to WDW. But, talking with other guests who had been before, they said that October is fast becoming more crowded than previous years.
And as you can see down below.... we are going again in Oct. So I gues for us, it wasn't too bad!! :thumbsup2

We did have great lines and wait times in the mornings-- get there EARLY!!

Have FUN!! :cool1:

We went Oct 1-8 last year, and yes, it was hot and HUMID!! If I remember correctly, we got at least a little rain every day. BB was shut down while we were there due to lightning.

Crowdwise, we were okay, but it got more busy as the week wore on (Columbus Day weekend was at the end of our weeklong stay). The only ride with an excessively long wait time was Soarin'- we tried to do it at about 3PM, and the wait time was posted as 100 mins. The FPs were all gone for the day, and DH would not stand in line for it, so we missed it. WS was packed in the evenings due to F&W. We did evening EMH at MK, and we did a lot- but it was more crowded than I expected it to be.

The rest of the big rides were surprisingly short waits (anything from walk-on to 20 mins at the worst, and that was TT in the late afternoon), but we did most of them the first hour the parks were open or with FPs. I'd say as long as you have a plan and get to the parks early, you should be fine.

Try to do MNSSHP- it is a blast! We got on lots of rides with no waits at all- and all the special party stuff was great!

Columbus day weekend was very busy. Avoid the MK over the weekend.

But pretty much until the friday of that weekend, it wasn't all that crowded.

We have been throughout October and the earlier weeks we found, that in our experience, was hotter, more humid, and rained more than the latter half of the months, we also found the crowds slightly lighter

Hi all,
I have been to the world the last 2 oct's.rain was light to none, weather was 70-80's during the day and chilly at night. One year it was like 40's at night for 2 days.being from nyc we were dressed right and the parks were empty cause of the cold so its was easily no waits on anything.Crowds were not bad at all even at peak times or days or popular attractions.Use the fast pass machines it will help, bring cold/chilly weather gear and have fun!
