Anyone know the price for internet at the Westgate Lakes?

I've just traded with II into a 3brd/3bath at Westgate Lakes for 2 weeks for Dec'13.
After reading some of the reviews, I'm having some doubts now but it was the only 3brds at the time that I could exchange for.
DH must have internet for work so I'm guessing I'm going to have to bite the bullet but I would appreciate someone letting me know the cost (I can't find it printed anywhere) and if there will be any resort costs?

Any other advice on Westgate Lakes would great too? (BTW- i don't plan on doing the presentation/never do/ i all ready own elsewhere)
Thanks

$9 or $10 a day.

there is a $30 charge for the activities - except the swimming pool. you don't have to pay this unless you intend to use the stuff

Request building 500. EXCELLENT location.....right across from the Citrus Breeze pool and activity center (where they have crafts, bicycle rentals, etc.), immediately beside the mini golf (which is awesome) and the tennis court, and just in front of the paddle boats :thumbsup2 .

I don't know if it has changed, but last April even paying for the wireless internet access at the Lakes only allowed one device to connect at a time! Not too useful for a family with 3 laptops and 2 e-reader devices among them. I ended up using my AT&T broadband card built into my laptop to download email while the wife was on the wi-fi.

You may be able to bring your own wireless router with you and plug the wired Ethernet into it and serve up your own wireless.

I'm staying at Bonnet Creek this year and unsure of the situation there so I think I'm going to bring a small wireless router with me, just in case.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I think your right aleksandr, there are going to a few of us with computers & iPads, so I'm starting to think a prepaid broadband At&t card 'hotspot' for 2 weeks is a better option (and cheaper) then bring a router & paying for wired ethernet.
Aleksandr- I was at Bonnet Creek a few years ago and yes we could only do 1 computer at a time on ethernet, so unless it's changed, take your router.

Hi Everyone again, just spoke to CS at Westgate Lakes and requested that my 2brd & 3 bedroom units be in the same building, and I took Gina advice and asked for building 500. He told me that building 500 is undergoing renovations right now, but will be completed by my arrival date:cool1:

I told him I was looking forward to staying there, but that I had also heard very mixed/bad reviews of the place. He said "Well I would like to express that we will our best to prove those reviews wrong"
So far, I'm pleased with my first contact with Westgate Lakes.

Have a great trip!!!

I am interested to see the renos that are done to building 500 (hopefully they are updating the interiors to something a little more modern :thumbsup2 .... while the spaciousness and cleanliness were both great on our 2012 stay, it was definitely a little dated inside). Please come back and post some pics and a review of your experience after your stay!

Good luck! I wish you the best experience on your trip.

One piece of advice, try to avoid first floor units. There is little to no privacy if you have the shades open due to all the foot and vehicle traffic going by.

OK, two pieces of advice. Avoid the sales weasels like the plague!! Don't let them con you into going to their 'welcome breakfast'. We made that mistake once--wasted about 4 hours of our day and it was an exhausting experience.

I have some great memories of vacations we took over the years at Westgate Lakes, but I will never go back there again unless there is a complete overhaul of their management structure from the top down as well as a few other changes (e.g. security). Westgate is a decent place if you never have a major problem. But if you do, you'll find how uncaring for the guest they really are...
