Obviously my subtle hints were too subtle...knock off the sarcasm and personal attacks. This thread is very close to being closed.

My online translator reads that as
'Don't MAKE me turn this car around kids. I will, you know!'
I think your online translator is working perfectly. Besides, none of us (EPSG, Glencora, I) started it!
Close, but more like...'you guys are driving me to drink'....trying to keep it transportation related..get it?? 'driving' me to drink????
'Don't MAKE me turn this car around kids. I will, you know!'
That was also a transportation reference, except that I don't think that you had on your smiley face at the time...

What airline and what airport?Ironically, I have missed 2 planes in my life. Once I was at the airport (pre 9/11) 90 minutes before my flight. It took me over an hour to get through security (they would not let me through) and then I had to take a train and shuttle to the gate. They had closed the gate at 10 minutes prior to flight time and even though I got there with 5 minutes until take off - they would not let me on the flight AND they would not do anything for me. !
Wait a minute - what happened to the people who were late for the airport?!?!![]()
I always arrive at the airport late afternoon/early evening the day before my flight London to Orlando. There are just too many things that can go wrong!
I stay overnight at the hotel inside the terminal; check my bags in as soon as check-in opens the following morning - then through security and have a late breakfast/early lunch in the airline's lounge befor flying out just before or just after lunch depending on which flight we are booked on.
Stress free travel and an extra day added to my vacation!!!

When I was growing up and we took lots of road trips it was "Don't make me stop this car by the side of the road". The rest of it, "And make me smack you" went un-said.![]()
I wouldn't exactly call DCA or IAH "small airports" which are my two most frequented airports, though I do have clients and regularly travel thru LAS, MCO, EWR, MSY, DAL, DFW, LAX, SFO. Only on a handful of occasions (less than 10 times in 10 years of biz travel) has it taken me more than 20 minutes using the F class security lanes at these airports.
As always YMMV. I value my time and as a paid consultant, wasting two hours cooling my heels at an airport is not a good use of time or money.
The OP mentioned that the friend was flying out of MSP. My client last year was in MSP. MSP was one of the most well designed and easiest airports to clear security. The TSA were surprisingly nice and efficient, I guess they just embody a good Midwestern hard work ethic. I would have the taxi drop my off at the far door where many didn't relalize was a security lane, if it was busy I would just pop down to the center door where there was an elite line, which usually had no more the 10 or 15 people ahead of me.
