anyone know somebody like this....... **UPDATED Post #96**

THE POINT IS WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE FRIEND AND THEIR TRAVEL STATUS!

ok then.

The male of the traveling party is a perpetually late person who never shows any urgency what-so-ever. He is always late to everything he does and doesn't care who it affects.

The female of the party is just the opposite, but was stuck waiting for said male last week.

The male of the party flies 1 time per year to Las Vegas and has no status what-so-ever. On top of that, he tends to be a bone-head who doesn't keep up on what to do and what not to do. He would be the one slowing down the TSA lines because he didn't know he was supposed to remove his shoes or take the laptop out of the carry on....

Honestly, I am not sure why said female is with him! She never flies and is kind of following his lead on this one.....

I will update all when I know more.....

I surely hope this helps.... have a nice day.

Duds

He he he....

Some of us arrive early at IAD just so that we can enjoy the new Lufthansa lounge (which unlike the RCC is mouse-free). Or arrive early at ORD to read the vast selection of German papers in the RCC (which are willingly given to German readers not flying LH once all the LH flights for the day have departed)

I believe that you have the wrong thread, Missy. That is for the 'What to Wear in First Class' thread, isn't it?

Hahaha, but that's sooo true! I actually haven't had a chance to check that lounge out yet. (I avoid IAD that much) Did they finally get their liquor license?

LOL, no status bone-head; jotting that one down:thumbsup2

Why am I thinking he probably wins (big) when he goes to Vegas.

This is better than a soap opera! I wonder if his ears are burning as we ponder his fate on message board.

I prefer my liquour inside chocolate.... would you like some leftover RCC drink chits?!

Another highly entertaining p**sing contest on the transportation board! Thanks OP!

Duds' friends do not appear to be highly paid consultants who value their time and get butts from door to seats in 20 minutes. They were headed on a junket to Vegas.

Yeah....well...give me enough chocolate and I'll look the other way if you choose to start that particular discussion.

Lest we forget...the vast majority of travelers fall into the 'no status bonehead' catagory. Even those of us who fly more than that vast majority still feel the need to get to the airport with room to spare.
It is a very small percentage of travelers that live on the edge..and don't arrive at the gate until about 15 mins before boarding and consider that to be 'early'!!!
Must have been one of that group I ran into at Delta's terminal at Logan a few years ago. There she stood, about 2 people behind me, in a hugely long line, at Dunkin Donuts. We had about an hour before our flight so weren't concerned about the 20+ people in front of us..mostly families who seemed to be buying breakfast for their families!!! Well...a boarding call came over the PA and this woman went nuts...started hopping around, complaining about the line under her breath. About 5 mins later, another 'final boarding' call came out. Seems this was that woman's flight....her comment??? 'Can anyone let me go to the front of the line??? This line has never been this long before and I HAVE to get to my gate before they close the door'
As one would expect..not one person moved. The line was lengthy when she got into it....she joined the line only about 5 mins before that first boarding call came out. She knew, going in, how close she was cutting it, but took the chance. She did leave the line, complaining, quite loudly, about the rudeness of people nowadays!!

It is always safer to leave some wiggle room when flying. Just not a good idea to leave some things up to chance.

Now...where is that chocolate????:rolleyes1

I'm guessing he's also, when he does finally get someplace only to find himself locked out, shut out, or left behind, a member of the "Do you know who I am?" club - perhaps even throwing a temper tantrum in the terminal when running for the gate didn't get his flight held? ;)

Surely, all he needs to say is "I know Dudpizza", and they would get him his own plane.

More like..... "what? they didn't wait for ME?"

but wait.... I say, "I know Bavaria" to get my own plane....... I should try the "I know Dudspizza" line...... I just won't tell them it is me... they might laugh at me after seeing me standing there......

Agreed, it's always safer. In fact, I manage to get a LOT of work done in the airport waiting for my flights. I always have wi-fi access and it never hurts to make friends with as many gate agents as possible.

:goodvibes

I'm thinkin' Duds would not claim him:rolleyes1

Diane--Love the Dunkin' Donuts stories:rotfl2: I can totally :rotfl2:pictue this woman muttering about "rude" people as she walked away:laughing:

Sorry! Remember, the stuff filled with alcohol and with toys inside is banned in America. We foreigners are enjoying it though. (and don't bother PMing us for any either - it may put you on a US government watch list - ask BWV Dreamin' ! :lmao: )

UPDATE!!!!!

Talked to my friend today and I found out what happened when they got to the airport.

The bone-head with no status arrived at the airport security check point with 30 minutes until their plane took off. I had commented in my original post that the security lines at MSP have been longer than normal because of some construction going on.... guess what... they were super long...... said bonehead started to panic and started telling someone their plane took off in a half hour. SOMEONE LET THEM CUT TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE!!!!!! We must have had some really nice, compassionate passengers at MSP that day! They got to the gate as their plane was boarding and did make their flight.

If they would not have been given "cuts" by other passengers in the TSA line, they would have missed their flight..... all I can think of is Goofy4Tinks Dunkin Donuts story........

As Paul Harvey says, "now you know the rest of the story".

Bonehead!!!!!!

Duds

Well I can finally get a good night's rest tonight.

Thanks!

All I can think of is that line about God looks out for fools, drunks, and little children...:confused3

I thought of this thread early this morning while in line at MHT...too much time on the disboards obviously.

Arrived one hour before takeoff which is usually plenty of time there but it there were 80 people in line at SW counter (heard the rep counting); unfortunately I had an item that has to be checked. Got through security and a minute to use the restroom before walking on with A30-60 boarding group. :woohoo:butt in seat with no waiting, now where's my medal?
