Anyone know moving costs??

I just wanted to say I hope for all the best in your husband's job search.

If you do move, keep all receipts related to the move as you may be able to claim some of it on your income tax return, if the move is job related and over a certain distance. I"m not sure, but check with your tax preparer or the IRS to find out.

Also, some companies may provide a certain amount in a relocation package depending on the job. Most moving companies will give you a quote to get a good idea of the costs and options involved. Our real estate agent had great recommendations for movers.

Best of luck to you.

I could see commuting for the first few months while he gets used to the new job and making sure it is likely to be long term employment. But after that I think it is crazy to not move. I sure wouldn't want to waste 10 hours of my life every week just driving back and forth to work, more time in the winter. I understand that in some large cities this may be unavoidable but really if it is possible to live closer I do not understand how any nice house would be worth the commute.
