I heard that this was happening in CA. I'd be interested to hear more too. My Guide is located in Disneyland, but I haven't reached out to her yet for more information.

As of a couple of days ago, they could not. I was talking to the three of the DVC people working the desk in the lobby of the Grand and they said they were not allowed to sell it yet. One of them wasn't even aware that there were no 1 bedroom units.

Mine too. He can't talk about it at all. I figured I'd give it a few weeks and then contact someone else before the price increase if it's still a problem. That must be a huge bummer to know that what were probable sales might slip away from you - not an even playing field.

If your an existing member, call your guide and ask him/her. If your CA based guide is unable to sell PVB, ask them to transfer you to a FL based guide.

Your State of residence is also a factor, If your State/Country isn't registered yet, you can only buy while you are in Florida.

So I went ahead and called DVC direct. This is only one conversation with one person, but the lady who answered told me that there is no ETA for California being approved, to the point where she said 3 guides are already moving to be based out of FL?!? Seems extreme but also makes me wonder if this might be a long haul for CA before resolution.

DVC was able to transfer me to an FL based guide who answered my questions and can help me if we decide to move forward. Still debating.

At the DVC booth at the Star Wars Race Weekend this past weekend, the DVC people at the booth told us they couldn't discuss Poly with us. Not sell us or pitch it to us, but not even talk casually about it.

So I would guess Ca is still on the no sales list.

The kiosk people aren't licensed real estate agents so they are limited on what they can say.

Even if California isn't registered yet, California buyers can buy while in Florida.

I realize that. However, when I went to the booth and said something like, Wow, Poly sure looks nice. And they basically ignore me and say, Have you looked at VGF, they are really nice!, and they would not even acknowledge the words DVC and Poly, or PBV or anything like that existed, I sort of got the message that they just would not mention them, even in generalities.

Someone said that they could actually lose their real estate licenses in CA if they talk about it when it's not yet approved ( I have zero knowledge about the qualifications of the kiosk people, but I'm betting they are gagged too). If I were a DVC member in CA, I'd be pretty bummed I had to fly all the way to FL to get member pricing for Poly.

Could it be because they are currently directed to only sell VGF to walk ups?

I got the marketing piece from our CA guide a couple days ago. I'm not interested, so I'm not calling him. But it would seem odd to send that out of you couldn't sell it.

Currently, sales are only open to existing DVC members. Sales to the general public are slated to begin on February 9, 2015. I'm sure that has something to do with the Kiosk employees. They probably do not earn any compensation for the Poly referrals just yet.

It may have something to do with the California situation as well. Perhaps the state registration has a begin date.

I received a marketing piece from my guide in CA as well. I don't know if it is just a mass mailing and they don't pay any attention as to who the guide is (and where they are based) or if my guide could sell me some Polynesian points.

DVD being licensed in your home State determines if you can be marketed to, not where your guide is.
