Anyone know anything about these pins?

(I hope I uploaded the image correctly!) A friend of mine at work gave me these pins as an engagement present. She knows I'm a Disney nut, and she runs an auction house where she comes across all kinds of old knick-knacks. I have several pins that I've bought and traded from the parks (I am by no means a collector), and I'm excited to add these to my display. They are very neat, but I can't seem to find anything about them online! Anyone possibly know the story behind them?

Do they have a straight pin back (opposed to the current ones with a stick back)? Is it plastic? They remind me of the older pins (prior to when pin trading got popular in the parks). Pinpics.com had one that looked similar one of the ones in the picture.
