I can remember going to a place called Storyland (or Story something) as a little kid. It was in upstate NY. Near the Adirondacks. I wonder if it still exists.
IMO, yes if you have young kids. We always went there when I was little, and I've taken my neice there before (it's beena few years, she's 12 now, the last time we went she was 9 and she loved it).
You might also want to check out Santa's Village and Six Gun City if you are in the area. Though I think they may be a bit of a drive.
You may want to consider spending a night of your trip in the White Mountains. It is a very long drive.
I just got back from a week in Mass & NH.........my SIL & BIL took my nieces & nephew & they had a wonderful time Their kids are 4, 3 & 2 and they said it was perfect for them.......my kids are a little older (youngest is 8) and we opted to go to a waterfall & Mt Washington that day.
I think storyland is a great day trip! My kids beg to go there every year and they are 7,8 and 9 now! Parts of it are a little hokey( like their version of Cinderella in the castle) but it is great for the little ones!
My BIL and sister just took their kids there a couple weeks ago and raved about it.
They specifically said that I'd love it since I'm such a Disney fanatic.
I have a two year old daughter and we're taking her as soon as we can. (Probably not until September though.)

That was Storytown in Glens Falls. Changed the name to the Great Escape in the early to mid-80's and is now owned by Six Flags.
BTW--if you remember Gaslight Village in Lake George, it's gone now, and I think they are talkign about building a convention center and large hotel where it used to be.
