Anyone know about about bunnies?

I know exactly how you feel, we just had our bunny baby of 5 years put to sleep on July 3rd due to a serious infeciton in her foot and I miss her alot.

We went last Saturday and matched up our boy with a new companion (rescue) so he wouldn't be so lonely.

If she had not been spayed, she very well could have had cancer. 80% of female rabbits die unexpextedly from uterine cancer within a few years.

My vet said that it "appeared" that she had been spayed, but I guess there was no way to know for sure. It's still a total mystery to me where she came from or how she got here (my back yard is fenced in a way that she couldn't have gotten in on her own).

I'm sorry about your bunny.

Sounds like someone might have put her there when they got tired of her. My new bunny had belonged to a teenage boy who got tired of her, but we already love her and will never tire of her.

Thank you, we miss her alot, but she is with her grandma.

Oh I'm so sorry about Bunny. :sad1: I didn't notice the original post date either and I was about to offer some advice on bunny care. I'm glad he found your house because you obviously cared about him a lot and took good care of him.

It's also wonderful that you quickly understood what bunnies are all about. Many people think they can just keep them in the yard and basically forget about them. You understood that bunnies are intelligent and sensitive creatures who have so much love and companionship to offer. I'm sure Bunny is happily bouncing around bunny heaven because he learned what it's like to be loved and appreciated.:)

Thank you. I love the thought of bunny bouncing around bunny heaven.

Today is surreal because Saturday morning was lap time. Bunny and my little dog argued over who got to sit in my lap while I have my morning coffee. The dog is with me now, but he doesn't seem smug like he usually does when he "wins."

After lap time was outdoor play time - she liked to eat the clover before I mowed the lawn. I always thought it was funny that she liked being outside but preferred to keep the outside trips down to about 15 minutes. Certainly a house rabbit!!

I am so sorry to hear about Bunny. I have a bunny named Alvin and he is the joy of our lives. Bunnies are such sweet creatures. Somebody probably owned him and somehow lost him. I just want to tell you that if Alvin ever escaped somehow, I would pray that somebody like you found him and gave him a loving home.

I'm so sorry she's gone now

What a great story about how you found her, she was beautiful. It sounds like she had a fantastic home with you!

I have to admit my favorite stories are people who found unexpected love in unexpected pets.
Yours was such a wonderful story and I am so happy you had each other for as long as you did.
