I thought I read that due to the popularity of MYW dinning, table service restaurants were so busy they were turning away most walkups. Is this true???
I hate the thought of booking PS's 90 days in advance to ensure we can eat at a table service restaurant. Are they really this packed now??? Maybe it's not worth all the hassle??? Any thoughts???

I just got back last Friday from two weeks being there and two different nights at MK they were turning away walk-ins at all table places. They even had a sign in front of city hall suggesting the counter service tables.

I just got back on Wed and boy was I glad I had all my PS's already. They were turning away walk ups left and right.

went on an impomptu trip last weekend and could not get PS anywhere but Concourse after 9pm

Wow, now I'm thinking maybe I should schedule a few more priority seatings (or whatever they're called now!) for our July trip :worried:

We were there last week and they turned away walk ups at chef mickey dinner and hollywood and vine dinner. My dh just blew past the line at crystal palace, so I am assuming that was a walk up line since we were checking in with our ps confirmation #.

Our trip is not until Halloween, but I am already trying to narrow down my choices. I was hoping to not HAVE to make a PS for every table service, but I guess with the dining plan, I had better.

I feel sorry for anyone who goes on the dining plan and does not realize that if they dont make PS's they may not get to eat TS when the want. :sad2:

The new official brochure strongly advises guests to book their PSs (or AD or whatever) numerous times throughout. So there's really not a reason why a person shouldn't know if they do the research and download the brochure.

Just got back from the World on 4/30, table service for lunch without a PS was no problem (except 50's Prime Time), very little walk-in available for dinner, I am glad I made my PS before we left.

Oh good! I was a little concerned reading this thread, but table service lunch and counter dinner is our normal dining style :) I do have a few "must do" lunch PSs made.

Just got back on Monday. This was my 6th trip in 4 years. This is the first time ever that I couldn't get priority seatings if I called in the morning for dinner that day. I couldn't figure out why...now I see why...you are right: the dining packages are screwing things up, lol. Of course, if I got to the restaurant they still had space usually (all except Liberty Tree Tavern), but I had to wait 30 minutes or so. I eat dinner fairly early, so it usually wasn't a problem.

I think we all know from reading these forums that people DON'T read the brochures, questions are asked here all the time that are covered in the online information on this site, as well as the Disney official site. :goodvibes

I feel sorry for the folks that don't read the warnings, and/or don't take them seriously!

ITA! Thank God I have the DIS :cool1:

We went April 16 (seems like i just got back!), and we walked up to Alfredo's in Epcot with a table for 8 around 1pm and only had a 15 minute wait. It was probably that way for other places as well, though im not sure.

We were there 2 weeks ago...at the table services in MGM, they had CM's outside warning people, "If you don't have a PS tonight, don't even THINK about eating here!" Same was true in Epcot on another night...almost every sit-down restaurant in the WS was packed solid for the night. I am an obsessive planner, and wouldn't THINK about NOT having a PS - thank goodness!

So it sounds as though dinner times are booked up more than others... ok I've got a few more to plan I guess. :earboy2:

I saw many people turned away at dinner & also at our lunch at Le Cellier (4/15 - 4/24)

I used to think it was ok to wing it - but not anymore......

We were able to make reservations the morning of at our hotel w/o a problem in almost every case as long as we were flexible.

We had made ps about 10 am for Concourse Steakhouse and got there 15 minutes late (was 7 pm res). As we were waiting in line the CM told the person in front of us it was a 2 hour wait. We were seated in under 10 minutes cause we had arranged it that morning. That was same day, not even close to 90 days.
