Anyone just back . Masks for kids

Hi everyone not trying to start any sort of debate or just wondering if anyone that has came back unvaccinated people are still supposed to be wearing masks at Disney correct ?
so kids 2-11 are masked ? Are parents ? Siblings of the littles .
I just can’t personally imagine the rest of our family not wearing masks if the littles have to,,
Just wondering what others have done.

We were there for a week and probably only saw 20 masked people the whole trip including kids. There were NO masks anywhere!! (Just returned yesterday)

On busses and monorail we saw them
I mean not on transportation.

Just remember - you and your family can still wear them even if others don’t if that’s what you feel comfortable with.

In early June, our family, which includes two four year old children, wore masks indoors and even outdoors when there we were in a large crowd. My husband and I are fully vaccinated and not as concerned about getting a COVID infection. But like you, I feel strange about asking my unvaccinated children to wear a mask and we don't, so we mostly wore masks in solidarity.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but since other posters have been further discussing this, here is what we are planning:

Maybe I feel differently because where I live my kids still need to wear a mask, but when we go in a couple weeks my husband, my vaccinated 13 year old and husband will only wear masks where required, while my two little kids will wear them indoors. They are used to it, so it doesn’t bother me if we don’t wear them and they do. I will adhere to rules Disney has asked of us.

We have been here since Saturday - from what we have seen, it's been a mix - some families with children under 12 are all wearing masks, some have children wearing them, adults not, and some have no masks. On buses, yes, all adults and most children are wearing them.

Have been here since Saturday. About 5% wearing masks in the park. Masks are required for everyone on Disney buses, skyliners and monorails. But yesterday on the monorail, a group of 10 people were maskless in my cabin.

see that’s how I think . Myself and big kids are fully vaxxed and maybe by then the littles will be too , but I don’t feel comfy asking them to do something I’m not . And since we are Canadian even if one if us ends up a symptomatic we won’t be going home as scheduled

Except for my DS 10, the rest of the family have been vaccinated. But all of us have been wearing masks most of the time. I let DD(13) remove her mask whenever she needs to because of the summer heat. We wear KN95 masks to make the breathing easier. Relentless sneezing/coughing people are everywhere. We got sneezed on a couple times while waiting in lines. We are glad to wear our masks at anytime.

We go in 2 weeks and plan on wearing masks since our kids need to. And for us it is either we all wear masks indoors or we don’t go.

I am at Disney now. On buses, mask complaince is basically 100 percent. On the monorail I thought it was a little worse, maybe 80 percent, but still lots of masks. In the parks and everywhere else, I have seen very few masks on adults or children. Everywhere you go, you are in a sea of people and in that sea of people less than a handful will have on masks. If you are more comfortable wearing masks, absolutely do it. Be prepared, however, that you may be the only family around you doing so. The vast majority of guests, children included, are unmaksed even indoors, and there is no longer distancing in attraction lines or in shows. Another poster said it was a mix, and while that is technically true because there are some people masking, I just wanted to clarify that the mix is NOT balanced. Almost no one is wearing masks besides on transportation.

My observation is the same as the above for my stay 7/3-7/9. My family wore masks throughout the whole time. My DH, myself, and DD are all vaccinated so the three of us would remove masks when no one else is around us within 10 feet, indoor or outdoor. DS is not yet vaccinated so he had the mask on I would say 90% of the time indoor and outdoor. At the pool, I would find a quiet corner for my kids to swim and I was able to find some, even at the SAB pool!

Despite all of the mask-wearing, both of my kids got sick during the trip. DS came down with fever, runny/congested nose, sore throat, and cough on our 3rd day of the trip. Took him to an Urgent Care in the area. Rapid Test was negative (I also let him took a PCR test upon return and it was also negative). DD got sick with the same symptoms on the last full day of our trip. The fever went up to 102.5. Her PCR test was also negative. I am glad that my kids didn't get Covid but the sickness and the downtime really interrupted the vacation.

Did I regret wearing masks the whole time? NO.
Was I uncomfortable being the only family wearing the mask in the crowd? NO.
Do I wish people around us wear masks?? No. I do hope that people would cover their mouths when sneezing and coughing. So many of them don't!!!
Just do whatever is comfortable and right for your family.

I agree. That's the same reason I don't drink alcohol. Kids can't and neither will I. Have fun during your trip!

We were there June 25-July 2. I’d say 2 out of 100 kids under 12 were wearing masks. Obviously they aren’t vaccinated. My husband and I wore masks indoors . We are fully vaccinated as are our 15 year old twins . I have an autoimmune disease and they say they aren’t fully confident the vaccine gives you full protection. I allowed my kids not to because they have been so good about following guidelines during this insanity . They should be fully covered so they didn’t wear masks indoors . It really is as if the pandemic is over in Disney . Yes a handful wear masks but for the most part people don’t . It’s actually pretty scary the first day .

Kids are not wearing masks, and of course it's common knowledge that kids cannot get the vaccine. Disney is not enforcing any mask rules other than on disney transportation which applies to all guests, regardless of vaccine status and/or age. The majority of guests are maskless.

I will also add that I think it's safe to assume that if our national vaccination rate is less than 50%, a random sampling of adult guests could/would be about the same, so I assume most guests are not vaccinated.
