We got there right at 7 (an hour or two later than I had planned ... but I didn't want to be a royal witch, yelling at the kids to hurry up so that we could have fun ... that was HARD for me because I had "a plan" but I got very flexible with it and it made for a much more enjoyable trip).
I have to say that entering was a huge task. Getting through the gates, getting our bags and wrist bands was a breeze. Then, once we passed under the train station, we were fish swimming upstream and it was HARD to keep from being run over by the masses leaving. I did hear several people grumbling about being run out, and saw them checking their schedule because they didn't seem to understand why they were being ushered out. Apparently they didn't read the signs about early closing when they came in (as was expected to happen).
There were tons of CM's on main street at that point, waving people out though. It did make the walk up main street difficult though. Even though it was 7 pm, we were still ushed into Tomorrowland. I really expected since we got there at opening, we wouldn't be sent to a specific land with the new plans. Our wrist bands were checked at least once on main street as we were going opposite of most traffic (I suspected that we would have been turned around had we not had them), and again at the ropes where we were guided into Tomorrowland. I found the lines a bit longer than I expected right there, I guess because everyone was being directed into that land.
Some trick or treat lines were longer than others - we skipped the longer lines and went back to those stations later in the night (like the one near CoP). Once or twice I had our wristbands checked when getting on rides, but not often. However, only my sister had long sleeves, the kids and I both had on t-shirts. So they may have been looking and not asking since they were really visable. I don't recall seeing anyone without wrist bands, but I thought to search out/look when we were standing in a crowd (at the second parade, and when we were watching the fireworks).
During the downpour, we were in Tomorrowland and just rode on a couple of covered rides while we were right there, then waited until it slowed up a little bit with a ride on TTA. We had planned to try to be in front of the castle for HalloWishes, but lost track of time and we were stuck just behind the castle at the ropes where they had everything blocked off. It was an amazing fireworks show. I know we missed out on some by being behind the castle (we were right in the middle of the launch sites, so were surrounded by them ... cool in a sense, but also didn't get the affect of seeing it behind the castle). Still, it was the best fireworks show I've ever seen. Breathtaking and the music/soundtrack was perfect.
We ended up with PLENTY of candy (now to hide it from the kids to slowly distribute it - I think Halloween will be here before we get through it).
