We're in this situation. Some days we have 2 table service meals planned, or a CS lunch and the luau or HDDR, so we will be way over TS credits. To make up for it, we plan to pay cash for my little guy (picky eater) and save his TS credits for the rest of us, who actually eat. We do plan to use CS for several meals, but I am afraid we will have extras. We plan to buy bagels, etc. at the grocery store for the week, and eat quick breakfasts in the room or on the go while we walk to the bus, but I suspect that by the end of the week that will get old and some of us will want to eat a real breakfast at the food court. Also, one night we have an early luau reservation, so DH may want to use a CS at the food court later. We may try to grab sandwiches for the plane before we leave with CS credits, but I'm not sure how convenient that will be. We may share a CS meal between the 4 of us for a substantial snack. Sorry, a bottle of water is not really a "snack". One thing is for sure - it's a better bang for your buck if you have more CS credits left than TS credits left! The dining plan will be free for us, so I shouldn't complain, but it's only natural to want to get your money's worth and not waste credits, especially if we will end up paying cash for some TS meals because we have too many.
Here's a thought:
I was thinking the plan might be maximized more if it were based on a point system instead of snack, CS or TS. For instance:
Snack OR drink - 1 point
Counter service meal - 2 points
Table service or character meal - 3 points
HDDR or luau - 4 points
This way you can use all your points for CS if you want, or all for TS if you want, without worrying that you will be short somewhere. I would think it would be easier for Disney to track also. Is anyone out there listening?!
