Reports from last week were that it was not as busy as expected. Now that we are officially in the Spring Break weeks, has it picked up?

Hoping all you Spring Breakers are having a good time!

Tracy

I'm going on Friday with my cousins. Past experience has always shown Good Friday to be extremely busy when I've gone.

I would like to know too. We are going to be in the park Sunday to Wednesday.

We have been here since Saturday and it's been pretty crowded. DLR isn't bad in the early morning, but around 10:30 a.m. starts to get pretty uncomfortable. DCA is, as always, much less crowded. Still, lines aren't horribly long at either park - the longest I saw were 60-65 minutes (Nemo, Soarin', Roger Rabbit). I did not see TSMM over 45 minutes. We showed up to Aladdin 10 minutes beforehand and easily got into Mezzanine seating. I'm surprised, but it has not been as bad as it was last August. That said, we learned from our last trip to flee DLR when the crowds start to thicken - the latest we stayed at DLR was 12:30 one day, so I have no idea how packed it got after we left.

I'll say the same thing as mrswh said.

I will also say that I noticed they were also using the remote parking lot off of Harbor Blvd and Convention Way. Since I don't live in the area I don't know how much they use this lot. Overall it is easy to get in and out of and then you ride in a Disney city type bus to the other side of where the ART buses drop at. Parking fee is the same though. I do kinda wonder if you could walk in there and ride over.

We will be here through middle of next week. Going to Twins Angel opener too and this year unlike last year as twins fans that still want to see Hunter do good too.

BUSY today! Space and Indy ran out of FPs around 2:00, standby line for Indy was 120 minutes at 5:00 PM, still 55 minutes when I left the park at 11:15 PM.

I also remember our visit from last August, just crazy after the unblock date!.

WOW I'm hoping things aren't so bad when I'll be there, we leave 2 weeks from today. Maybe just the tail end of spring break...

We were there this past Sunday and coming off the 5 at Disney Way, they directed us straight to this lot. Because I am not really keen on trying it out after hearing it can be kind of hectic and preferring to walk from the structure to the park rather than take the tram, I tried the structure off of Ball Rd. instead and was able to get in there. So it seems like they aren't using this lot strictly for overflow, but just as parking in general. :)

I work at the park and yes, it is insane at the parks right now, full of spring breakers. People seem to have checked their manners at the gate as well. Personally, I would avoid coming until closer to the end of april. That said, there are special things going on (such as Electrical Parade) just for spring break.

Glad to hear this! Wait, not the rude people thing, the end of April thing! We will be there April 29-May 3!

We were just there March 29 and 30 and it was really crowded. We were still able to do quite a bit by getting there at park opening and using FP but it's hard to wait 35 minutes to ride Flik's Fliers when only a month ago we just walked right on. I think I was getting spoiled. :rotfl: Oh and the Jungle Cruise which even on a weekend usually only has a 10 minute wait at most, was a very long line. I can't remember how long we waited but they had us going upstairs and around that area before coming back down. I haven't been upstairs in the jungle cruise queue in years.

Lavender hits the nail on the head on what to do when it's crowded. :thumbsup2

Get to DL prior to opening & know how to use FP.......(basically follow all of Hydroguy's FP rules). & hop to DCA if DL gets too crowded in the late morning or afternoon.

hound <------didn't even know they had an "upstairs" at the Jungle Cruise queue. :scared1:

I was there on Sunday and it was busy, but we did a lot. FP for SM and Soarin were out in the afternoon. Longest standby I saw was SM at 60 minutes.

...Jungle Cruise...they had us going upstairs...
An excellent benchmark for a very busy day at the Park.

If the queue for Jungle Cruise goes upstairs, it's definitely a day to be sure you have your handstamp and ticket before exiting the Park midday.

I can't wait dh and I are going on Saturday Apr 3.... we haven't been since before Christmas.... we plan on getting there when DL opens and do what we can then head over to DCA when the crowds get bad... then just hang there til whenever... we plan on just enjoying the day, taking pictures and getting on rides that we can... no stress!! :yay:

This week is bad, I was there Monday and Yesterday(Tuesday). I am not going to say dont go but be smart about it. You want to fastpass the most crowded rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Indy. Get there at 8am and go fastpass Indy first, then jump on Splash because in the morning you can get on the ride in less than 30 minutes. 2 hours after your first fast pass then go grab Space Mountain. By 12 noon, the fast passes if is not shut down then it will be for around 9:45pm. Matterhorn is short in the morning and it is really right after the fireworks.
Definitely spend some time in DCA. You can get all their major rides done in one day even without a fast pass.

I agree with the craziness, and the "checked their manners at the gate" thing.

Without RideMax we would not have done the rides we wanted to do on Monday. We were there on Saturday and Monday and it was crazy.

We had a rough time of things (see my Trip Report). It was crazy to see the lines for Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Room.

DH said that if you have "Poo in a cup" that people would stand in line for half an hour to get a chance to look at it. THAT is how busy it was.
