Anyone in December getting FP+ and MB

My December Story:

I am checking in at SSR on Dec 7th :cool1: and was told today by a Disney Rep that FP+ will not be available until 28 days from check in.

What prompted the phone call was that I purchased my tickets on line today at My Disney Exp. and the ticket confirmation number would not link the tickets to my My Disney Exp. Had to be transferred to IT, they resolved the issue and tickets are fully linked and visible in My Disney Exp.

And I was under the wrong impression:confused3 that since I was under 60 days I would be able to book FP+ but not so. That was basically why I bought my tickets today.

I learned that 60 days will apply once the system is fully rolled out.

Oh well, Disney now has my ticket money at the 58 day mark vs the 28 day mark.

Am I reading correctly that no one arriving in December has been able to book FP+? I thought that it was supposed to be available 60 days out...

...
The thought is that once it's fully rolled out that it will be 60 days. It is not as of now.
...

I have heard rumors (absolutely, 100% NOT official) that FP+ may be suspended during the end of December due to enormous crowds. Going "live" during the slower months of January and Feb seems to make much more sense to me. The fact that technical support is pretty slammed right now with minor fixes to the system may suggest the same.

I believe the FP+ system is alive and well and rolling on 60 days from check in PLUS 14 days of fastpasses.

First-
some people who already have had MB's and are checking in for december are getting FP's.

Second - their system now seems to be programed for 60+14 days to some degree.

here's what you can see

log in to MDE.

now go to the link i posted above: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/fastpass-plus/
you'll get an error window that pops up.
Someone posted a cool 'half a work around'
DONT HIT OK, but rather press the "esc" key on your keyboard to clear the popup window.
Now there's a calendar icon up top by the date description of the week, click it.
You'll see that past days are grayed out.
Today and future days this month are light blue.
Click into november- all light blue
click into december- right now it's light blue till december 24th, wich is 60+14 days.
That 60+14 days is rolling - in that every day another day in the future turns light blue- so tomorrow, Christmas day will turn blue.
The system will allow you to click on any blue day (and then promptly tells you your party isn't eligible that day- likely cause we have no MB's)- but it wont let you click though to a gray day (which would be in the past or 65 or more days in the future.)

Once you fiddle one or two times the whole thing blows up and gets wacky- welcome to the buggy world of disney IT. But clearly the system is programed to some degree to recognize 60+14 days ahead for FP+

I guess it's possible this is just the website programmer getting ready- but i'll be an optimist and assume it means FP+ is chugging along even though MB are not.:goodvibes

The trouble with that is that plenty of people whose 60 day window has already passed aren't able to reserve FP+. I have yet to find anyone who is arriving December 1 or later who says that they have been successful.

The calendar is interesting though...

my theory-
becasue they dont have a MB. You cant get a FP+ without a magic band.

(although i have to go back and read the last hundred pages- lol- i was under the impression that some of the few that got magic bands for their december trips did get FP+, i may be mis remembering...)

I believe the only people able to get FP+ in December are those that check in in late November. Did anyone get MBs for December check ins?

Not working... I'm at 73 days. Going to the site above and doing escape I can see my dates but cannot select any days hence cannot select next.

Now asking again - would it make sense if we are paid in full or not?

no - makes no difference if you are paid in full or not. that doesn't seem to have ever matter- but not sure.

anyway it's not really a big deal since it gets you no where but to see pretty colors on the calendar- lol.

But-

once you hit escape doesn't it say "october 10 - october 14" with an icon of a calendar next to the 14? Click the icon next to the 14. It will just show you the colors on the calender- if you select a date it will go to that week and tell you that you aren't elgible anyway- so it's no back door in (although i keep looking- lol)

AP holders with MB can make FP+ 60 days into the future. Perhaps on site guests get 60+14?

Wow. You lost me at log into MDE. LOL

For starters your link takes me to the MDE login page.

Also, yes. People that already have MBs from a prior stay CAN make FP+ 60 days out. This is already known. I am one of them. I have MBs for my trip starting on October 26th. Right now, if I log in, I can make FP+ reservations as far out as December 8th, (not the 24th). I think it's actually 59 days, I don't know why. Even adding 14 days onto that would only take me out to the 22nd. Anyway, for me it's available up to the 8th.

I'm not sure where you're coming up with 60 + 14?? Can you explain that?

If that is true then the December people are really late!

Wow, MB or no MB, paid for 100% or not, 60 days or 28 days, previous MB use or not? Wouldn't it be nice if Disney were to let December visitors know something? Ah, eventually... :)

Again, it's all a test. They don't have to tell us anything. They could cancel the whole thing at any given moment.

We arrive 11/28 through 12/7 and have had our bands ordered and fastpass+ selections more than a week... Not sure what's going on...

You check in on a November check in date. No surprise there at all. It's only people checking in December 1st or after (that have not had a prior stay during the testing phase already with MBs) that don't have the ability to customize or make FP+ yet.

it'a all right there- lol.

its confusing as above- but just follow step by step.

LOG IN to MDE first.
then click the link.
since you have MB's already I assume you wont get a popup so ignore esc.
there will be several dates listed this week from oct 10-14.
next to the spot where it says "oct 10-14" - just to the right is a calendar icon.
if you browse the calendar that pops up- todays date plus 60 +14 days are blue. Days before today and after 60+14 are gray.
(today is 10/10. 60 days would get you to 12/10. Add 14 days you get to 12/24 the last blue date.

Sounds like the website programmer may have gotten ahead of him/herself and my theory is a bit out. But I'll still be an optimist and say at some point someone told him/her to make it 60+14

We've even changed out fast+ choices, though not every attraction is available on every day... Strange...

But it's not for me, that's what I'm trying to tell you. It's only blue for me up until December 8th. 60 (or 59 for some reason) days out.

True but it does make it a bit harder to plan. I'd be a nervous wreck if I was going during the busy December holidays and I don't plan much.

Again, I could be wrong, but I think it will open up around the 20th of October(ish) which would be at least 60 days out from Christmas week. So I don't think those people will have any problems.
