Anyone in December getting FP+ and MB

I have a reservation at SSR using DVC points with an arrival of 12/27. If I click on "My Itinerary" on DME it goes to a screen where you can "add things to do" for any day, not just the days on our trip. Under "Fast Pass Plus Service" it says "Make Fast Pass+ selections beginning November 5, 2013."

Does anyone else with a December arrival get the same thing? The funny thing is that I am also taking a short trip to WDW with my wife with an arrival of November 5. For that trip I have already made FP+ reservations and customized magic bands (the site says I have 3 more days to do that, so I'm guessing the bands will be shipped soon after that). I wonder if that November 5 date is related to that trip, or if it's just a coincidence.

I will be checking regularly to see if the option to customize magic bands and make FP+ reservations pops up. It was there for the November trip a week ago; I don't know when it first came up because I hadn't been looking, and was expecting an e-mail invitation.

Edit: I asked one of my daughters who is going in December and her DMA itinerary does not have that. The November 5 date must relate just to the November trip.

Hi,

I'm really sorry to trouble you all - and I feel really dumb for asking this :flower3: - having been a visitor of WDW for 35 years, I admit I finally feel like a real novice with all of this FP+/Magic bands stuff!!:worried:

We arrive for a stay at BLT on 12/30, and my plan had been to purchase AP's (for the first time ever!) upon arrival. From what I appear to have read so far, it looks like I need to purchase them before I arrive.

Is that right? I am from the UK - so is that even possible? If so, how do I do it?

My other question is - we are obviously there over a very busy time - is this FP+ system something that needs to be 'jumped on' very first thing in the morning on the day it becomes live - or is it not quite as desperate as say ADRs!!;)

As I say, sorry to ask such dumb questions - but I really am at a loss to understand it all.:wave2:

Hello from a fellow Brit :)
Don't feel bad about asking Qs, this is is very new and there is so much to learn :teacher:
I have pre-purchased my AP for our trip at the beginning of December, did it over the phone and they gave me a reference number that I have entered into the My Disney Experience website.
This meant that 60 days ahead of my trip I was able to schedule all my FP+ times
You wont be able to schedule FP+ in advance without having valid admission so it may be worth buying your tickets in advance and getting them linked to your reservation
Hope this helps?

Thank you for your information on AP getting magic bands. You mad my day.

I check into All Star Sports on 11th December before moving to Kidani on 16th.
This morning (I'm in the UK) I was able to customise my bands.

I don't have tickets associated with this account so not sure if fastpass+ would be available now.

It says that I have until November 11th (38 days) to customise my bands.

I have been a member for a few years, but have just set up this account. My children do not know about the holiday but my DD(14) is getting a bit suspicious of all the time that I spend on th DISBoards and I don't want her to see my post.

ETA I can't customise my bands for the Kidani reservation yet. The Kidani reservation is linked to my normal MDE account. DH added the ASSports reservation to his old account by mistake, so it is not linked to my account.

Tried to check in this morning for Dec 3 and no customize magicBands or fast pass selections. Staying at AKL Kidani.

Now I am really starting to feel as the guys on the november thread, when guests with check in date many days after mine have been able to customize their bands. :worried:

I guess that probably means that even if all resorts are included in december there might be different release dates for each resort, and apparently resorts that were early in the preliminary testing, such as AKL, now are not the first ones to go.

I only hope I don't get to make my FP+ selections too close to my arrival dates, specially because WDW is the 2nd part of my trip, being the first NYC, where it will be a little hard to spend time doing planning I could have done two month in advance. :furious:

I'll be checking in AKL in dec 1st and have 7days hopper tickets, my MYW package is linked to my account, my check in is done and all is paid in full.

:hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

But they all got to eventually. ;)

Don't feel bad - we are all notices and the new systems are still testing and not fully rolled out!

Since you are outside the US, when you get the chance to customize MagicBands you will choose colors and names, and they will be sent to your resort to pick up at check-in.

As far as needing to "jump on" - I would say yes, for two reasons. One, they have been loading limited inventory into FP+. Pick some as soon as it opens, then keep watching in case something you wanted wasn't available if you want to switch it. Remember, 3 per day in the same park each day, and no repeats within the same day. Second, well, December 30. 'Nuff said.

See, and I say no. Just a different opinion/viewpoint. They only allow 3 per day per person, and only in one park. I think it's impossible for them to "sell out" early on. Or be gone the first day, like an ADR.

We leave in 3 weeks and I just changed my FP+ all around the other day, and there was plenty of rides/experiences/parades available at multiple times.

Yes, I had this too. I have a one day stay at AOA on Nov 29, and it allowed me to do fastpasses for that stay but for the later offsite days of our stay, it said, "Make FastPass selections beginning November 29." But instead, it's been opening up day by day, so that yesterday I was able to make Dec 2 reservations and today the Dec 3 reservations, and I expect tomorrow I can do the Dec 4 reservations. It seems to be going by 60 days out and that bit about not being able to make reservations until Nov 29 was not true!

My gut feeling is that there aren't enough people who are going to be aware of this AND be organized or obsessive enough to snap up these reservations the first day they are available. Maybe it will get that way someday, but I don't see it happening immediately.

I will get a good test of this if FP+ is available for our December 27 arrival at SSR. You can't get a busier time of the year than the days between Christmas and New Year's and if we have a wide selection of FP's available for those days it will be a good indication.

My general plan is to try to get FP's for headliner attractions in the evenings when FP's would be out and standby lines prohibitively long. We can get to parks at opening and do as much as we can before crowds get too big, spend the afternoons taking breaks and visiting resorts to see their decorations, and then go to a park in the late afternoon and evening to see the nighttime decorations and use our FP's. If this works out, FP+ will prove to be a great way to include some major attractions into evenings that otherwise involve just walking around the parks and hitting a few minor attractions.

Arriving at POR on Dec 2nd and nothing this morning, still waiting...semi-not-so patiently:upsidedow

I was able to customize my magic bands and all for the last couple days and not today it is gone all of a sudden. I am a Dec 1st check in with everything linked and ready to go and online check in complete. I was never able to do fastpass+ and still am not. It looks like the ones doing fastpass+ in December actually check in in November unless I am wrong but I find it wierd I was able to do magic bands and I just did not ship them yet but today they are not even showing up.

We've seen a few reports from people with December check-ins saying the same... seems the system released some December dates and it was not meant to be and they were pulled back.

You are right - only those with check-in dates in November seem to be real at this point.

We have ressies for 12/2 at CSR. Paid in full this morning and tried to check in 3 times and at different points of the process it came up unsuccessful. Cannot customize bands or FP+ yet at all. They need to fix their site. It will take money but not check in....:(

Arriving at SSR on 12/3. Today is my 60 days and did on line check-in. There was a minor glitch so I called IT. CM rectified problem and, of course, I had to ask about MB's. After giving me the ususal "Testing" spiel she did say that Dec. check-ins who are seeing a "Customize" prompt are getting them by mistake and they will eventually disappear. She made it clear that the only time they will hold is when you get your e-mail notification. (For what it's worth!!)

The only problem with this is that people are getting their email "notification" after the customization date has already passed. I received my magic bands, customized, 3 days before I ever got my email "notification".

But December will get it, it's just a matter of time. They're clearly not doing a rolling 60 days, or people checking in December 1st would have gotten it already. So they'll probably release it like they have October and November, in one big release.

Just my guesses for now. Which of course means nothing :lmao:

Today is my 60 days. Tried to check in online but keep getting a error page:/ and no mb to custom for me. I guess what I don't understand Is if they are rolling out everywhere dec 1 why can't we already have the option? Why do we need to wait for a email. If I do get them I hope it's earlier then a few days prior to leaving. We drive so we leave a couple days before our check in date.

Not that it matters to much but I heard there was a new color for the bands? Is it true and if so what color? I'm just curious lol
