We have done family trips in 2013 & 2014 so it's been awhile. The last two days have had horrible crowds. Even the EMH doesn't feel like any perk with all the crowds. We even waited a bit hoping the lines would be better but they weren't. Is it crowded or is this the new normal for crowd levels?

I'm not there today. I was there all day Saturday and will be there tomorrow. I have several friends in the parks today. They're describing it as "moderate."

I think that 10am openings are wretched, and you're correct that a 9am MM is basically useless. Tuesdays also anecdotally seem to be the most popular day to use MM. 8am openings give you a couple of great hours if you're committed to rope drop, but usually the parks are crowded by 10. 10am openings just mean that all the people who would have arrived between 8-10 show up at once.

The Halloween stuff is crazy popular, so I'd say fairly high crowds are the new normal for Halloweentime. Additionally, the parties mess up normal crowd patterns. Also, the parks are simply consistently significantly more crowded than they were in 2013 and 2014. The 60th jacked up the crowds and they've never dissipated, basically.

Sorry about the crowds, but hope you're finding ways to have fun anyway! We like to take in more shows during high crowds.

Heck yes. The lines this morning were ungodly, and I literally have never seen DCA so busy. And I've been throughout the year.

I miss the days when there was actually an off season. It was like a reward for putting up with crowds the rest of the year. Lol

I will say that I've had a few times where there is NOBODY in the parks, first thing in the AM, at a 7 AM MM time. It was wonderful. My daughter and I experienced that one particular time in 2016 while I was pregnant with my son and we knocked out 90% of Fantasyland in that one hour.

Yup, 9AM MM is worse than a morning with no MM. It just concentrates everyone into a couple areas of the park. Total mess. It was like that last Tuesday as well. Just plain avoid them.

I felt like today at DL was really crowded. More crowded than I expected for a Tuesday. DCA didn't seem as bad. We are LOVING max pass!!! It has been totally worth it. If we didn't have it we would have been completely miserable today. My fingers are crossed that the crowds are better tomorrow.

We have been here since Sunday, and the crowds were not bad until Tuesday. I could not believe how many people were in New Orleans Square. We decided on an early lunch at Cafe' Orleans and then made our way out of the parks for the day.

It's the new normal and it's been like this for a couple of years. It's always crowded every day. If you go and it's not packed consider yourself lucky.

I hate the heat so these crowds aren't helping. We definitely got a lot more done on our last trips. These crowds are hard on little ones who have a hard time waiting in line.

We generally go at times that use to be Super Value Season, along with an occasional peak time too.

We have defiantly noticed the crowds build with each trip. As many here say "There are NO slow times anymore".
The normal Crowd Crunch, is what we expect whenever we make a trip to DLR.

I know what you mean about the wait times. I let the grandkids know there will be longer lines then they might expect.
Putting up with a line wait is up to them. So far they haven't given up going.

Maybe Disney's solution to the crowd crunch is MaxPass.

Nope. You're the only one. Lines must be awesome! Peter Pan's a walk-on! ;-).

Or you could answer my question. I genuinely don't know what is normal for crowds since we don't get to go often. I would really like to know if this is a normal crowd level or if its busier than normal. I have no idea if it's more crowded because people are here to see the new rides and decorations or if this is what a regular day is like now. I can only compare it to my previous trips years ago and it was a lot less crowded. Obviously someone like you who goes a lot might know that answer.

Weather looks a lot rougher this week than it was last week. Bad luck. :(

I'm on the bus back to the Toy Story Lot. Disneyland was decidedly UN-crowded until a couple of hours ago. Even things like HMH had 20-minute waits just before noon. I'm imagining that the 8am rope drop was pretty sweet, but I wasn't here that early.

DCA was pretty average when we were over there.

It is a lot hotter this week than last week, which definitely leads to more exhaustion, I think. But it's fun to see all the costumes arriving!
