My husband just purchased a Yamaha Waverunner and I would like to get a kneeboard. Can anyone recommend a good knee board? I have been looking at the brand O'Brien and also a Hydroslide Kaos kneeboard. If anyone can give me any advice or recommendations it would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks

I haven't kneeboarded in a couple years, but O'Brien definitely makes the best kneeboards. I don't know if they still make it, but the one I have in called Black Magic. It's nice in that it has retractable fins on the bottom, so you can jump wakes or do 360 type tricks, all in the same run, because you can lean forward and adjust the fins while you're on the board. :) :)

Thanks for the response. I'll have to check the Black Magic out.

I don't think you could go wrong with O'Brien for wakeboards, kneeboards or skis. It's all we had growing up. They make some really good gear. The board Bob Slydell was talking about sounds WAY cool. (it's been MORE than a few years for me since I've been on a board)

We have a Black Magic thats been passed around for the last 16 years. But if you're in the market for a new board you're going to find thinner, finless boards. Beginners are better off with the Black Magic. Experts use the newer styled boards. I'd pick the Kaos over the Black Magic if you already know how to kneeboard. I don't know what your laws are there but for a person to "ski" behind a waverunner it must be a 3 passenger model. You have to legally be able to get your "skier" on the waverunner.

Try Barts Barts has Betty Price Beater.....they'll price match identical items lower priced elsewhere.

We are getting the FX Cruiser High Output which is a 3 seater. It's not in yet. It will be here in about 1 - 11/2 weeks. Then I guess we'll be off to Raystown Lake!!!

The first board we got about 15 years ago had retractable fins. Once we all finally got the hang of it, we never used the fins. Our newer board doesn't have fins at all since we knew we didn't need them - it wasn't a requirement for us.

I am the chicken-kneeboarder also - I stay right behind the wake and I still didn't find the fins that helpful. Went outside the wake once, wiped out really bad and never had the nerve to try that again! :scared:

Have fun once that waverunner comes in!
