Anyone here go to Woodstock?

My brother did (he is 14 years older than me)... I only remember a muddy tent hanging in the yard when he got home..... :wave2:

I go to the TOWN Woodstock. I love it there. I've never been to the event. The town is still stuck in that hippie era! :rotfl2: But the art & crafts are wonderful there.

BTW: The event didn't really happen IN Woodstock. :grouphug: It was 35 miles(?) nearby on some farm, not really in Woodstock. But they called it Woodstock anyways. That's SO Woodstock! :rotfl:

I've been to the town too, go camping near there every once in a while.

My dad went in '69. He grew up in Saugerties and I always thought it was so cool that he hitchiked there, until I visited and found out it is only about 10 miles! :rotfl2: He also hung out in the real Woodstock. He talks about different times when you could see Bob Dylan paying on the green. Can you imagine!

I wish. It sounded like a hopping place to be :flower: I worked with a guy who was there - he was quite a bit older than me, but I used to raz' him about being at Woodstock. Fortunately, he had a good sense of humor.

My husband went in 1969 original Woodstock.

Almost. There were four of us who were set to go when my parents had a hissy fit. I would have been driving and they weren't happy about that so we decided to pass.

Looking back I'm still divided on whether it would have been a good time or no. At least I can say I DID go to the Beatles concert at Shea Stadium. That was the second biggest happening in the 1960's.

No, but I dated a guy from NYC who went when he was 16. He ended up in the movie! He's one of the naked guys sliding in the mud :rotfl: !

Wow, so I feel old! Although I wasn't there, my best friend in high school drove out there with her boyfriend and told me about it when she got back. I do remember that the "event" didn't really happen in the town of Woodstock, but in a neighboring town.
I went to high school in Woodstock, but in Connecticut, at the same time, 1969. So I'm occassionally questioned, "You went to school in Woodstock? You mean, THERE?" So Joan drove from Woodstock to Woodstock.

my uncle drove up for a day. i had the t-shirt he bought my mom when he was there, but she unfortunately threw it away when i was in 8th grade because it was all ratty and gross. i was soooo mad, it was such a cool thing to own back then (back in 1997 when people wanted to be hippies again). haha.

I've been to Woodstock, NY a couple of times. I dated a guy from there in college. :teeth:
