Anyone here bank with PNC? Question about PNC Points Program

DH and I recently opened checking/savings account with PNC. Our check cards arrived today and I went to enroll us into the Points Program.

The Points Program registration only allowed for one specific check card, mine. (I'm guessing because I'm the primary on our accounts.) Does this mean I can't add DH (and his check card) to my Points account? :confused3

If DH can't be on my account, can I still create a separate Points Program account for him?

Seems weird to us since we're both on the same checking/savings account, that we can't be on the same account for the Points Program. (Unless it's 1 Points account per "family." Meaning that only one of us can sign up..)

If any of this made sense and you have the answer, I'd appreciate it! :worship:

No, you can have multiple debit cards, associated with the same account, on the same points account. Both DH & I get points for using our debit cards and it's to the same account.

There is somewhere on the website that will instruct you on adding a card -- that's what we had to do to get mine on it -- but I don't recall any further than that what you actually have to do/where you actually have to go.

I am a Branch Manager with PNC. The pp is correct. You can have two debit cards linked together so that the points earned all show up in one account. Enroll your husband's card, then go to the My Account tab on the PNC Points website under your login (if you are the one who will be monitoring the points). Then go to the Link Visa Cards tab. From there you can submit a linking request. Points are a wonderful thing! :)

I can help! If you login through your PNC points you will see a section to link cards. Since you signed up first, you will be primary points holder so you can authorize up to 4 cards to link to yours. All points will then go into one balance.

Don't forget to check your Points offers on your online banking homepage (lower right hand corner under Points Summary). Its an extra way to build your Points! Can't wait to go to Olga's Kitchen tomorrow and get extra Points!

I love the PNC Points program!

Thanks to all 3 of you for your help! :thumbsup2

I did see something that mentioned linking cards. I'll go back and get my DH set up. :surfweb:

Yea, we decided to leave Bank of America and started looking for a new bank. I'm glad we came across PNC. The points program is great, plus I like the online banking through PNC better than Bank of America. It has charts that track your spending and everything! I'm quite impressed. :cool2:

In July, we left Wells Fargo and switched to PNC. We haven't looked back; we LOVE PNC. :lovestruc

Glad someone more knowledgeable than me was able to give you some directions. :goodvibes

We love PNC... was with National City before PNC bought them out and the transition has been a piece of cake. Absolutely no complaints. And the points program is great. We get some gift cards for dining out usually 2-3 times a year.

Love PNC and the points program. I have my account automatically set up to issue me a Amazon gift card when I have enough points. Nothing I need to do. About 2 weeks ago I got an email stating I was close to redemption and then this week got another that my points had been redeemed and my gc is on its way. Very easy.

Also we have been with PNC for about 3 years now and never had any problems. Everyone is friendly both in branch and on the phone.

DH and I got married in June. We combined finances; he came from Wells Fargo/Wachovia and I came from USAA to open a new PNC Virtual Wallet account. We LOVE it. Seriously. It took a few months to get used to the how the VW works, but now I absolutely love it.

We have each of our debit cards and PNC credit cards linked to the same points account.

Thank you for the step-by-step, I enrolled my husband's card and put in the request to link our debit cards to my points account...now I just have to wait for approval! :thumbsup2

Awesome, I didn't know you could do that. I'll have to look on the website and see all the gift cards they offer and get something set up for us.

Glad I was able to help and that you are getting it figured out! I'm also very thankful to see all the PNC love on this thread! As a Branch Manager, I often hear the negatives. It's been great to read through this thread and see all the positive comments. So, thank you!
