Anyone here a Thirty-One Consultant

I have been a 31 consultant since July and I love it! The products are amazing and so worth the money. The company is just incredible! They bend over backwards to do what they can for you, and the freebies we get as consultants is awesome!! Not to mention the special consultant only sales, etc. LOVE it!!!!

LOL.
Mali, maybe you should also post a thread about how folks feel about being a victim of a home based selling party,

I recently posted a thread about them on the community board not to long ago so you can do a search on my name if you'd like but I'll give you there synopsis.

1) while the stuff is cute, generally I find home based stuff expensive. the big draw with 31 is that you can "personalize it" but truthfully walmart, target will get the same stuff cheaper.

2) Now I just had a bad experience at a home based party and you guys are probably not like this but, the hostess invites you and you try to decline politely, then they tell you "come have a good time you don't have to buy" BIG FAT LIE yeah they want you to come but the minute you decline the catalogue, whole other attitude.

My electrician (a women) is also a 31 consultant. she has lost my electrical business because when she comes to do work she always presses this 31 catalogue on me, which I then feel obligated to buy some thing that I have no need for.

here's the link to the other thread I wrote about, almost a month ago. the other "customer" side of home based selling

I am not 31 consultant...however, I have several friends who are. One LOVES it...she does very well for herself. I buy most of my organizational stuff from her. I sell Paparazzi and the 31 utility bags are great for toting cases of jewelry and accessories.

The other friends I know who do 31 don't really do it. They just are consultants but don't try to get customers.

A victim? All you have to say is no.

My direct sales company is a bit different. Everything is ony $5. No sales pitch..no catalogs. No pressure. All I do is set up at the hostess home. The product is affordable and very nice! I have had success because it really is zero pressure. I have been told no thanks..and I move on.

I would hate to think of myself victimizing anyone by asking if they want to host a party and get free products.

That being said, 31 is expensive. I could never sell anything that costs that much because a lot of people can't afford it and there is that obligation to buy when you host a party. That's why you just say no thanks :thumbsup2

Holy cow! I can't imagine a place where people don't know Thirty-One. We have tons of consultants around here. I don't sell it (I sell Scentsy), but my friend does and she makes a killing off it people. The products are very high quality IMO and worth the price. I love Thirty-One!

I have no info on this company but I will NOT purchase anything that requires me to go to a party or where someone shows me a brochure they got at a party. I usually find that the items are overpriced and I don't want to feel obligated to help out the hostess. Ages ago though I did buy Discovery Toys, but through a catalog.---Kathy

I agree with you! I've been invited to dozens of these parties where you buy things (Thirty one bags, Tastefully simple foods, At home america, candle parties, wine parties, I could go on) by my sister in laws and it really only helps out the hostess get free items or money but for the other people attending, the merchandise is very over priced and not up to par in the quality department. This is JMO though and to each their own. The very last party I went to was over the summer for a Thirty One party- well I felt obligated to buy something so I picked the "Mini Utility Bin", it is practically useless as the bin doesn't stay upright- even when I have a ton of things jammed into it, it manages to collapse.. :confused3

Sorry to kinda hijack the thread, I realize you asked specifically what Thirty One Consultant's thought. :) I do have a co-worker who is a consultant for them too as she does that part time. She has never complained about it and she does enjoy the extra money. I can get more info from her if you want.

I carry a Thirty-One utility tote for work, I train on high end business equipment. The bag bag has several pockets for 3 handheld devices an iPad , laptop, paper work, pens, jump drive...it is a mobile office.

I purchased a second one for my makeup artistry , comes in handy when I have to travel for jobs.

The one draw back is when Thirty-One consultants feel it is open season to try to hard sell to me since I am already using the product.

As much as I like 31 products I also have trouble with all the 'utility' stuff..they collapse all the time! Very frustrating..they should have a way to to lock them open for the price. Anyway..may just resell all the utility stuff since they really don't hold form at all.:sad2:

I really like a lot of 31 products, but typically only buy during their 70% off sales.

Their items are just too overpriced for retail sales.

In March though, if you spend $31, you can get ANY tote half off, even the Cindy tote. Many of my friends are interested in that bag, so I am finally hosting a party in March. I don't sell 31 and the thought of any kind of sales makes me twitchy.
