We belong to BMG music club, and I neglected to send back the "No Thanks" return card for the featured selection, and we ended up with her CD, and a $20 invoice for it. It just got buried in the rest of our holiday mail and was probably thrown out.

Anyone ever heard of her? Is she any good? I really don't want to go through the hassle of returning it, but I thought maybe if I don't open it, I could give it to someone as a last minute gift.

I just have never heard of her...this will teach me to be more responsible with the return cards!

To be honest, if you lived here in the area, and we willing to drop by, I'd almost be willing buy it from you. :D I just haven't had a chance to get to the story to buy it myself. She did "Wreck of the Day" and "Breathe". I don't see a second album yet, so I suppose that is her first album. It's only $11 plus S&H through Amazon.com -- I think I'll order it now.

Sure--kind of mellow singer-songwriter. Her voice reminds me a bit of the 'non-angry Alanis Morrisette'. Wreck of the Day is her current CD, and the 2 singles are "Breathe-2AM" and "Wreck of the Day"

For future reference, if you receive a CD you don't want don't open it! Simply mark "Return to Sender" on the front of the package and put it back in the mailbox. They'll get it back and refund you the money. You don't even have to pay for shipping.

Sorry, I'm in Wisconsin!

Breathe...that sounds familliar. I remember thinking it reminded me of the country version of breathe, in one part of the song.

I think I'll open it and listen to it.

Thanks!

If you want, surf over to amazon.com and you can listed to a few snippets from the album.

Also, did you know that you can request that you don't have to return the little card? BMG will send you the same info (even via email only, if you sign up on their website) and you can have them "change" your account so that you only send the card back if you want something!!! All you have to do is ask them!

I did that years ago, and I don't get "ooops" CD's anymore!

No, I didn't know that...that makes way more sense to do it that way! I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

From allmusic.com: Her love of the Cranberries, John Mayer, and Fiona Apple is easy to hear when one listens to the poignant music of singer/songwriter Anna Nalick, but it's her beloved Blind Melon that had the most impact on her career. The California native had been recording demos on a cheap cassette recorder when one of her tapes ended up in the hands of former Blind Melon members Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith. The two were now a production team and with Eric Rosse — a producer who had worked with another Nalick fave, Tori Amos — they re-recorded her home demos in a professional studio. Two weeks later, Columbia Records contacted Nalick with an offer and soon college was put on hold. With an all-star cast of studio musicians, the 20-year-old recorded her debut, Wreck of the Day, released in April of 2005.

I think our first exposure to her was when her music was featured on some television program. I cannot remember which one. It's funny; that's how we've been introduced to a lot of new artists we end up liking.

Her cd is great but I cant say I own it...once I heard Breathe I just burned her album onto a cd.
But it is really good! :)

If you buy it, maybe she'll make a lot more of them! :)
