Hi :wave2:

I am moving the end of the month and also having a garage sale so I'm trying to clean out the house I'm in...I have SOOO much stuff. As I'm sorting it all into donations, garage sale, trash, etc I was wondering if anyone was having any luck selling their "stuff around the house" on Ebay. I hate to sell something for pennies at the garage sale if I can do any better on Ebay, but don't want to go to the headache of listing, etc if nothing is really moving. (Trying to save for May trip!)

Thanks :earsgirl:

I have about 15 items listed now............and 8 are selling. I usually have a garage sale every year and use that money for vacation. However, I have had wilton cake pans in my sale the last couple years and they havent sold. So I decided to put them on ebay and they are all selling now.

I think it all depends on what you have to sell. I dont think it could hurt to try.

I would suggest you look up completed items on eBay and see if the items are selling.

I've been doing pretty well. I've been selling on ebay for about a year and a half now. If you're going to do it, though, you should really try to do it in the next couple of weeks. I found last year that once spring gets here everyone heads outdoors and sales do slow down. Good luck!

That's a good idea! I didn't even know that was an option! :) I'll be looking into that! Thanks.

Last week I had 18 auctions going and all of them sold (most were books). I made just over 500.00. I didn't get anything listed this week though since everyone in the house had the flu. People are buying though. Remember it is tax season. Good Luck!

I a kicking butt right now! I have made a good $1000 in the last couple weeks, selling clothing, baskets, books, toys, dolls, whatever. If it aint nailed down, it is OUT OF HERE! Disney HERE I COME!!!

I have a ton of little girl Spring dresses sizes 12m - 3T with the tags still on them. I would love to start selling on e-bay, but do you think people would buy from with since I do not have any feedback - because I am a new seller?

Should I explain in my auction that I am a new seller?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

I love to buy from new sellers. I am still fairly new myself and I know how hard it is to build up your feedback when you are not a powerseller. I am very thankful for all those folks who have put their trust in me as a new seller. :flower:

I have sold some Disney and some nonDisney items the last few months. I think the key is to start low (lower than you would really want to sell the item). Then, in my experience, the selling price typically goes up and the fee you pay to list is lower.

As far as being a new seller, everyone has started at 0 at some point. I had people put faith in me with 0 feedback, so it starts somewhere. You can also build your feedback by buying!!! (Although if you're trying to raise money for a WDW trip, that probably won't work.)

Example of eBay versus garage sale: My husband had a used, but nice name brand ski coat in a garage sale for 3 years ina row (first at $5, then $4, then $3). It never sold. We put it on eBay last week and it sold for $25, plus we made a little $ on shipping.

You just never know what will happen! Good luck!

I sold on ebay last year, from about Jan-March and did very well!

This year, selling the same kinds of items (sterling silver rings, colored rhinestone earrings, plus size and kids clothing) I am getting next to nothing!!!

I haven't put anything on in the past few weeks because I am tired of getting my hopes up and then getting disappointed at the outcome.... :sad2: so how is it that you ladies (guys?) are doing so well!!!
Help me!
I am ready to sell my blood to get the rest of our WDW fund!! :rotfl2:

They will know you are new at it based on no feedback. That shouldn't hurt you though if you are selling something they want. Take the s off of my user name here and you have my ebay user name.

I have just learned to sell what is hot! I sell Gymboree childrens clothing....from my daughters wardrobes from the year before. And I have sold many of my baskets (another major brand) over the years and those always do well. I only sell stuff I bought and used pretty much. Every once in a while I come across something I know will sell well and buy it to list. Like I found a Maya Wrap sling for $6 at Once Upon a Child a couple weeks ago. Sold for $33. I will find those and Baby Bjorn's for cheap like that and they always do well. Also, the latest lines from Gymboree, if found cheap at places like that, will do very well. Older lines don't. I sold some old books I had, they did better than I expected, nothing huge, but better than I would have done at a yard sale for sure.

If allowed, it WILL sell! There are some seriously strange things on there. This one man paid hundreds for a frosted flake because it was super sized!

!

I list everything for .99 cents! Only when I know it will go low and likely only get one of two bids will I put it higher. But even my baskets that sell for over $100, start at .99, as they WILL sell the same regardless
