Anyone having an Epcot dessert party?

we are going to disney for a wedding in Dec. There is a "dessert party" at 8pm in Epcot where we will see Illuminations. Anyone know where these are held exactly? And do you need park admission to get in?

I am having my reception at Epcot so that my guests can see the Illuminations show! I don't know if they have different locations, but when the idea was presented to me, I was told to have it at the Epcot UK lower terrace... it's on the water and apparently the best view of the show. You do not need park tickets to get in... the wedding couple has to provide a motorcoach for the guests which takes them into Epcot "backstage"... they don't let you walk through the park. There are several locations around the lagoon, so it could be anywhere. The most popular are the UK (behind the Rose and Crown), French Island (between France and the UK) and Italy. The others are Morocco and Japan, both of those being for much smaller groups.

The admission is most likely going to be covered by the bride and groom. They can pay a viewing fee for you to watch the show that's much less than full admission to the park since you won't be riding any rides or doing anything else. They may or may not be providing transportaiton to the park, depending on if they're wearing their bridal attire the rules for that can vary. thanks. I will check out that TR! The reception is at the GF much earlier in the day so I didn't think there would be transportation to the Epcot dessert party later. No biggie since we are on the monorail line. We will be getting park hoppers, but we won't be hitting any other parks that day so didn't know if we had to "waste" a day for that and some older guests do not plan on getting any park tickets.

Hello! If you are attending someone's wedding and they are having a Dessert party as part of their wedding festivities (this is what it sounds like, but i"m not exactly sure), you don't actually need a park ticket to attend the DP (dessert party). The host of the event will almost surely get a motor coach to transport all of their guests to EPCOT... all guests are then escorted if you will, to the DP location (which ever country that is). Its a very smooth and relaxing process for guests. Anyone that does not have a part ticket will still be able to attend because they take you through the "back way" rather than through the entrance. So you wont need to waste a day on your hopper to go to this dessert party! Hope that helps a bit!

The person hosting the wedding should provide you with a bunch of info about how it will all work for their specific party, but that's the general gist of how a DP works.

We are having a Dessert Party this November. Our reception will end at 3:00 and then we will all be getting together again in Epcot for the party. Our location is United Kingdom. We are not providing bus transportation for our guests (they are getting that for the ceremony and reception). We are having everyone take Disney transportation to the front of Epcot and there they will meet a host that will take them to the location. We are also having some people that are staying at the Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club meet at the International Gateway - they will meet a host there and the host will walk them to the location. When everything is over they can either walk back to the front of the park or the International Gateway and take Disney transportation back to their resort.
