Anyone have this doll back in 1967?

Love this thread since I am a collector of sorts of 60s dolls...I have Barbie and all her Friends, Chatty Cathy, Baby and Singin...The littlechaps, tressy, Mary poppins...all the mattel talkers...on and on and on..they are all neatly stored away for now waiting for our house to be done :wizard:

I think I had a baby alive! I was trying to remember her name. Does she eat wet and cry and make different expressions when you turn her head?

I also have one that I do not know what she was called. She has golden hair--darker--and I know she used to talk and she had a little phone you could clip into her hand. Her whole body is hard plastic.

That one, the one I think is baby alive and Mandy were my favs. DD has them all now and she has been threatened with her life if she does not take care of them. (She has a history of not taking care of things and they get lost or wrecked or whatever.)

ETA--I found Baby Alive on ebay and that is not her. Hmmm, any ideas who that baby is? You turn her head and she is laughing, then in the middle happy then to the left, she is sad and will cry if she has water in her. She can drink a bottle, but not food. Her body is squishy plastic but is stiff--no joints or anything to let her move.

I had a baby Thumbalina around 69-70 my little sister had the Baby Chrissy and it was lost during a move when we were young. I bought her one from Ebay for Christmas this year . She is 36 now :) it is her favorite gift !

"Newborn Thumbalina
You've never ever seen a
Doll like
Newborn Thumbalina."

Must have been a catchy commercial for me to remember it all these years later.

You're bringing back some memories now.

I had
Tiffany Taylor (you could turn the tiptop of her head to change her from blond to brunette.
Chrissy
Cinnamon
Blythe
Baby Tenderlove
Velvet

I always wanted Baby Alive!

Is it me, or does the selection of (most) dolls today seem lame compared to those of our childhoods? :confused3 I walk around toy stores looking for dolls for my DD and I can never seem to find anything. I like the My Twinn and American Girl, of course, but the dolls of this thread seemed to have so much character!

I also had Chrissy and Thumbalina. My cousin had Mrs. Beasley, and I wanted one so bad, but I never got one. :sad2: Oh, the painful memories of childhood. ;)

I had a doll like that, but mine was named Tuesday Taylor! It was Barbie-sized, except for the feet, which were about three sizes too big for Barbie's shoes. So my Tuesday Taylor went barefoot from day one, since I lost her shoes as soon as I took her out of the box. :teeth:

I still have my CheerfulTearful doll and I'm 46 :) I also have my Liddle Kiddles and a doll that crawled. I think her name was Baby Crawl along but I don't remember.

What fun memories!

I can't remember why my sister got a Tressy doll, but I didn't. We're only 18 months apart, so we usually got all the same things. She must have gotten it for her birthday. I was always jealous of the way Tressy's hair grew!

I still have my Tippy Toes and my daughters got a big kick out of it!

Did anybody have Pitiful Pearl? She was a slightly homely doll with ragged clothes, and she was an orphan. I felt SO sorry for her and loved her SO much! She actually belonged to my older sister, who kept trying to hide her away on a high closet shelf ("I want to save her for my own daughter someday") but I'd get a stepstool and pull her out. My sister just didn't understand, Pitiful Pearl NEEDED love! :flower:

Aha! I found her--she is Baby Tenderlove. The Tearful Cheerful tip helped!!

I had Growing up Skipper, which must've been on clearance sale. Wasn't there another ballerina doll that was blonde and had a crown on her head too? She worked wonderfully well on the comercial. I had Baby that-away and the doll that repeated everything you said with the tiny recorder inside and worked when you pulled the flower string. Anyone know the name?

My first doll was Madame Alexander's Victoria Doll Baby

I had Thumbelina and Mrs. Beasley also.

Thanks for the memories! :flower:

I am wondering if anyone has a pic of Baby That-a-way - I am trying to remember if I had her -- she would walk and turn around and walk back and then hold her hands out for you to pick up??

I loved my Baby Beans dolls, My Friend Mandy, and Baby Drowsy was my first baby - oh how I loved my dolls.

I wanted Pitiful Pearl sooooo badly!! No one would buy her she just sat on the shelf and my mom thought she was ugly.

Tinkerbell739 -- my mother recently bought Baby Victoria for my daughter Victoria -- MIA with a ton of accessories still in their packages --- it is just incredible -- she plans on letting Tori play with them. Very carefully -- that scares me to death!!
