review from Steve M. Laguna Beach, CA
5/25/2011 1 photo Tangaroa terrace just opened this morning!
(Still waiting for the new Monorail Waterslide and Lap pool to open, but that happens next week-subject to change)
Standing where Hook's Point used to stand, this brand new structure shares space next door to Trader Sam's Bar (opening today also).
This is an inexpensive but solid breakfast option to those staying at the
Disneyland Resort, or for day visitors.
It gets it's inspiration form Adventurland in Disneyland (I guess all the Adventurelands in all the Magic Kingdoms)
I had the Breakfast Platter-eggs, roasted potatoes, bacon and a biscuit for $6.99.
What happens is, as you enter, you go to an available kiosk and pick your selections on the touch screen. A ticket pops out below and you bring that to a cashier (much like Taste Pilot at California Adventure used to have).
You are given a number and a Castmember brings the food to your table (outside or inside dining options.
Everything smells new!
Once the pools and construction are over, this place will really ROCK!. Overlooking the pool and poolside cabana area, this will be a "go-to" place for hotel guests.
Next I want to try Trader Sam's but since tomorrow is Payday, and I'm broke, I won't be able to until the weekend....maybe.
On the breakfast menu besides the platter, are French toast, cinnamon oatmeal cakes. Prices range between $5.99-$6.99 for hot breakfast items. There are also more selections to add on like fresh fruit or yogurt.
Since construction is still going on, there might be some of that noise to contend with, or you can eat inside.
