My husband is not a fan of wearing jewelry. It took him a few months to get used to & okay wearing his wedding ring. We got our AP MB the other day and he really doesn't like wearing it. Add on the fact that he has a RFID blocking wallet to block RFID stealing of CC data from his RFID enabled MC.

Has anyone been successful with an onsite stay with some of the party wearing MB and others using a KTTW & AP card?

Would he just use his card at FP+ scanners?

What about Memory Maker - would he need to go to the photo spot after a ride?

Any other concerns / differences if he uses his card instead of MB?

The RFID tickets ("cards") will work interchangeably with MagicBands.

You can always cut the band and just carry the Mickey head part in your pocket. :) Or loop it around a belt loop?

I didn't know they can scan your tickets for pictures. I know you can't scan your tickets to charge to the room.

We were there in January-February and chose to opt out of the MBs. It was no problem at all. We were issued The RFID card Keys and we had APs which we were advised not to link to our card. We never put charging priviliges on our cards either, paying cash instead. It worked better for us because when we used a FP we just touched to the mickey head, we didn't need to twist our wrists around to match Mickey to Mickey. it was a lot faster!!. I hope we never have to use those MBs. I don't like them at all, and there is no advantage for us that the cards don't have.

We had cards because we stayed at Swan/Dolphin. As PP says, they actually go quicker than the MBs with scanning. I'm also pretty sure my dad used his for PhotoPass. I will say that you do have to pull it out each time, which wasn't a big deal for us but might be if you have to hold on to kids' cards as well. Have fun!!!

My DS is he same way (Lord help if he ever has a jewelry loving girlfriend, lol could be a deal breaker) he plans to loop his thru his Jeep lanyard. He has managed to accept wearing a lanyard since he has to for work.

Thanks for posting the KKTW card reviews tho, we may switch to those if they are indeed more convenient

The only snag I see is with photos. MBs broadcast so the rides know when you are on them. If there is no magic band you will have to "pick up" each picture like in the olden days ;)

I don't wear any jewelry on my hands/wrists, not even a wedding ring.....I simply used my ticket for everything that my MB wearing children used their MB. Some feel it's less convenient to have to "dig out" a card every time, but I wear a lanyard at Disney and just pop the lanyard up to the Mickey head and it reads it. Didn't do any damage to my credit cards.

I was onsite in April and requested a card to use, while the other member of my party used the magicband. The card was super-easy to use on fastpass+s and everything. I just kept it in an easy-to-get spot. :thumbsup2

I did notice this when going through the fastpass+ entrances. It did seem a bit quicker than the other people with their bands. :)

If his card is in his wallet it will definitely not work with the new ride picture technology.

This is good to know. DD does NOT like bracelets of any sort and has often chosen to sit out of an activity if it required any kind of wristband rather than just dealing with the wristband.

No one in my family likes to wear the MBs. I just loop them all around the strap on my bag and take them off when we need to scan them. It was no trouble at all.

I totally understand her. I've definitely gotten better the older I've gotten, but as soon as I can, I take wristbands off as fast as possible. I did find my MB experience interesting because it actually didn't bother me. It wasn't restricting like most wrist bands and the thickness made if feel different than how bracelets super drive me nuts. I did have a card with me at all times just in case my anxiety acted up and I will definitely request one my next trip. 7 days is definitely longer than 2.
