Does anyone have the weight limit specs. for the red strollers sold in the themeparks?

Are the strollers more sturdy than a standard umbrella stroller sold at Wal-Mart or Target?

Thanks!

I don't know the exact specs, but I'm pretty sure they are just standard umbrella strollers you'd find anywhere. Surprisingly, though, the price was something like $20-$25 or so at Disney, which isn't that much worse than what you'd get at Walmart. I didn't get one, because I had one already from home, but it seemed that was one of the few areas where a customer might not feel like he's being taken advantage of at Disney.

We were there in August 2007 and rented a stroller at all the parks. We were not smart enough to know that they do have rentals at Downtown Disney. Our then 3 1/2 year old was so tired one night we were there we got desperate and went into a store there in DD and bought one. The one we bought is a Koolcraft red umbrella type. I thought it was more like 50 bucks. It was an impulse buy and we regretted it the rest of the trip because we had to travel home with it with our luggage. I don't see a weight limit on it but I would guess something like 50 pounds. It is really nice with padded handles and a net basket on the back. It is a lot nicer than the ones I have seen cheap at Walmart and Target. Too bad you don't live near me or you could have this one Cheap!! Probably will sell at the next garage sale. Good luck

I read a thread a while ago and I'm sure the weight limit is 40 or 35 pounds!

It is also about $50, I believe Wal-Mart carries the same one for less.

I couldn't find it on the Wal-mart website but here is one about the same price similar style and has cup holders, which I don't think the one WDW sells has. It also holds to 40 lbs. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8072091

I found one on Amazon.com that looks like the one we bought. It is called the Kolcraft Tour Sport Umbrella Stroller with adjustable canopy. They say the weight requirment is 35 pounds. It sells for about 50 bucks on the website.

I believe it was $40-$50 and the people I talked to while we were there in Apr/May really liked it and were glad they bought it. Their children were older (3-5 year olds). It folded up compactly for the bus. Here are some pics

It was $50 last time I was there and the weight limit was 35lbs..It was a basic Kolcraft umbrella stroller that you could get at Walmart for a lot less money then what Disney marks it up as.

We bought one two weeks ago the price was $53.00. I think it's a little better quality then the one we got at home for $20.00. Wasn't expecting my 8 year old would need one as she hasn't in quite some time. After the second day she was getting tired. I believe that the weight limit is 40 lbs.
Disney sells a lot of them so we tied a ribbon around the handle so it was easier to find.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. My son just turned 7 and I know that he is going to eventually run out of gas while touring the parks. He's not used a stroller at home in years, but we always get one at Disney. In the past, I just rented a stroller, but I'm afraid that the new single rentals will be too small for him--and the doubles simply cost too much.
