Anyone have Roller Coaster Tycoon Platinum?

I'm trying to find something fun for my oldest son.
I saw Roller Coaster Tycoon Platinum edition.

He already has the Gold pack which is Roller Coaster Tycoon 1, 2 and 3.

I've looked on several sites, but I can't find anything that says whether this Platinum is different than the Gold edition we purchased a few years ago.

I was hoping someone on here has played the Platinum version. How do you like it? Is it worth paying $25 for?

I don't play the old version anymore, but used to have the Gold edition. I've got RCT3 with the Soaked & Wild expansion packs. I love it so much more than the original game.

There have been 3 RCT games - 1, 2 and 3. Each has had multiple expansion packs. The games and their expansion packs have been put together in any number of different packages - probably with similar names. I know I've seen at least one RCT "gold" package that was different that what you describe - it was just RCT 2 with expansion packs.

I don't know exactly what was in the platinum version you saw, but if you already have 1, 2 and 3, you have all the games. At best, the platinum version would have an expansion pack you don't already have (which probably can be picked up cheaper separately.)

I didn't know they made those. I've never heard of the Soaked and Wild pack.

I guess I'm going to look on Amazon or something and see what I can come up with.

Soaked & Wild are excellent! Soaked lets you build pools and waterslides, and also adds more rides and attractions. Wild adds animals and more rides and attractions.

Well, duh on me. DS doesn't have 1, 2 and 3. He only has 1 and 2 plus an expansion pack. He doesn't have 3 yet.
After looking at 3 on Amazon's ratings it seems you have to have a pretty upgraded computer in order to play.

I'll have to see if our computer will be able to play this game.
