Anyone have Pictures of the FtW Dog Park?

Although clearly the PP is infinitely more intelligent and insightful than Disney, who saw fit to not only build an 800+ site campground as one of their VERY FIRST RESORTS at WDW, and then later built no less than 5 kennels at their parks and FW... and just a couple of years ago realized that there was no way in the world people would actually want to CAMP WITH THEIR DOGS........... so they built a dog park in the campground. :scared:  :scared1: :faint:

Clearly they are clueless and unable to make good business decisions. They should hire this person NOW before they run the place to the ground and go out of business!!!

Where's my popcorn?popcorn::

For my dogs I would have to agree with goofy. I wouldn't want them at FW, and neither would anybody else. They would be like caged beasts. They are much happier in their 1.5 acre wooded backyard....killing squirrels, digging holes, chasing deer, and generally doing whatever they want. Now our new little pug/boxer mix would fit right in at FW. He is pretty chill. The others are maniacs.

Cheers, dog lovers!

Totally fine to know your dogs well enough to know they wouldn't do well travelling or at WDW. Heck, that's being a responsible dog owner in my book!

Also totally and completely fine to want to take a vacation away from your dogs if you prefer! :goodvibes

Totally NOT fine to come on here and basically call the lot of us a bunch of cheap, crazy, dog-loving, camping hillbillies in one post after another after another....

must. resist. urge. to. reply.
post. would. take. 3. days. to. type. and. probably. get. me. kicked. off.

Srsly... my 3 border collies (who are unquestionably smarter than I am and no doubt better company that the PP) have informed me that dignifying such a post with a reply that takes more than 5 seconds would be a horrific waste of the time we could be spending playing, snuggling and generally ENJOYING EACH OTHER'S COMPANY.

Ooops - gotta run. The dogs have the new camper brochures out again and it seems they're reaching a consensus on THEIR next camper. :rotfl:

That's why I waited. Monique comes up with some of the best stuff. Great info on dogs and rescue and has a great wit, too. Our dogs took out all the brochures for the RV supershow and have their hearts set on a Class A with a fireplace. It broke my heart to explain that we were not as rich as they seemed to think and they would have to make due with what they had and 4 FW vacations a year. It was the reason we got the RV in the first place. Poor abused dogs.

Aw gee Barb, you're making me blush.

Hmm... sounds like our dogs belong to the same secret club! I'm sure there are a bunch more members lurking here on the DIS too. ;)

Sad to say, our dogs are the reason we've had to "sacrifice" our great desire to stay home and sit on the couch for the sake of traveling and camping with them. Most horribly, they've forced us into spending 3 weeks at WDW each year! :crazy2:

They are evil task masters, but what can you do? :upsidedow

DH and I can't stand FW and we just go for the dogs. We try to be brave and stoic, but sometimes it's hard. They beg me to go to the dog park and I go and then they cry to walk the loops and I take them. I know the secret little looks the give the other dogs they see. I wink here and tail wag there. It's all code. Sometimes I can't take it any more and just have to do something crazy like .... go to the trading post or ride around the loops at night during the holidays or we force ourselves into a park. Just to get back at them I'll force myself to have a Dole Whip and eat the whole thing without thought to leaving enough in the cup for doggy licks. That'll teach them.

We used the dog park almost daily whenever we are at the Fort. It is a great park with plenty of running room. The only complaint we and some others have is that we feel there should be some sort of seperation between the big dogs and the lil' ones. We've seen the park full of small dogs and as soon as a large dog shows up people pick their lil' ones and leave.

We bought our rv just to be able to take our CKC with us. In the four years that we've owned one, we've never left him at home. But, sad to say, since this is our first time at FW, we are leaving him behind with the our parents since he's never been in a kennel and I want to check it out first. We will bring him back with us on another trip to FW! He's like our child and I know I'm going to be calling back home checking on him!
