I've been checking into insurance premium rates recently and have found Progressive to have a much lower auto premium than I am paying now for the exact same coverages...like $400 a year less. Does anyone have experience with them. Are they good? If I have a claim, how are they to deal with? Let me know the good, the bad and the ugly of your dealings with them. I also found that their homeowners insurance will cost me half the amount I pay now for the same coverage. I was astounded because it is with the same home insurance provider (Homesite) that I have now. I pay double for Homesite with my current carrier.

So, let me know the scoop on Progessive. I'm ready to make this move. Thanks.

I've had Progressive Auto for about 6 years now and have never had a problem. Had to put in 3 claims - 2 not our fault and 1 that was. All the claims were handled quickly and easily with good communication from the Progressive rep. I've not found a cheaper rate whenever my husband wanted to check and have always had a good experience when I actually need to deal with someone. Hope that helps.

I have a policy with progressive that I once filed a claim with, no problems with the claim service

I no longer have them, but did have auto insurance for a # of years with them and the few claims that were filed were quick and painless.

When I got rear-ended, Progressive sent me to one of their concierge claim centers, where I dropped off my car, picked up my (free) rental, and went on my way. They handled taking the car to the repair shop, getting the repairs done, and then I picked my car up at the concierge claim center and dropped off the rental. It was completely painless and it was awesome.

We have both auto & home with Progressive/Homesite, and have had no problems. We haven't had any claims, either. The longer we stay with Progressive, the lower our premiums are. Our car insurance just went down $20 per month; that was pretty significant to me. :thumbsup2

Just make sure Homesite gives you the discount for having Progressive car insurance; the first year we renewed, they did not list it and I had to call and get them to add it.

We had a tree fall on our van during my son's honor's night last year (ours was not the only car affected). The Fire Dept cut all of the cars out of the tree that were drivable and I called Progressive on Friday, on Tuesday I went to one of their preferred body shops and their rep was waiting for me out there and they did an estimate, and cut me a check for the repairs right there from the reps car. It was very easy. I also have homeowners with them, but no claims. I have been very happy w/ Progressive!

I had Progressive Car insurance for a while. The rate was great until I backed into one of our own trucks and damaged a bumper. They handled the claim fast and got my car repaired but when it came time to renew, they increased my premium more than the total amount it cost to fix my car. If I had known that, I would have just paid to get my car fixed and kept the lower premium. Needless to say, we dropped Progressive very fast!

We only have auto, but they have been amazing - extremely fast, efficient customer service and claims service. They are wonderful and we would and have recommend them to others.
