My grandma had a colonoscopy done today, during which they found a very large mass. They took a piece to send to biopsy, told her to come back in a week for the biopsy results, as well as to schedule a surgery to remove the mass because it was so large, it was obstructing the colon. Like I said, this happened today. A couple hours ago, she got a call from her doctor telling her she needed to come to the ER, he wouldn't say why. So now she's in the ER, we have no clue why. I know she wasn't feeling great afterwards, she has a little fever going. So if you could maybe spare a prayer or 2, or some good thoughts or healing white light, it would be great.

Sorry to hear this Sounds scarey doesn' it?? Prayers for Grandma and you on their way.

Sorry to hear about this, that must be very very unnerving. Will be thinking of your family. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Prayers going out to your Grandmother and your family. Please keep us updated.

Oy, nothing good ever comes when the doctor calls you and tells you to come to the ER. Apparently, it's cancer. They're keeping her in the hospital right now, not sure what's going to happen. We've already cancelled the weekend getaway we were planning for this weekend. Obviously, that's not what's important, but still... I was looking forward to the break. Now, I'm not sure what will happen.

Sorry to hear that outcome.
:grouphug: to you and all the family for a good outcome.

I was afraid of that. You're right, there's nothing that makes your blood run cold like hearing the doctor say "Meet me at the hospital, NOW." I hope this will have a good outcome. Sorry you have to cancel your getaway but I know your heart will be with your grandma this weekend. Perhaps when things settle down you can have your nice weekend.

Sorry to hear about your grandma.. I will say a prayer for her and for your family to be strong for her, please keep us updated on her progress... thanks

 so sorry to hear the news about your grandma. Prayers going up for her. I have been getting used to the "cancer" word this year too. I pray that your grandma will get the best treatment possible and I know she is blessed to have someone as caring as you in her life.

I am so sorry to hear of your Grandmother's test results. I am praying for her and your family. Cancer is rampant in my family. My mother died from colon cancer at age 55.

Please Google "Colon cancer and cimetidine" to learn more about this wonderful drug. I feel it is a miracle drug when used an adjuvant medication for colon cancer. Here are a couple of good links to get you started. I hope some of this information can help your grandmother. I wish I had known about it when my mother got sick.

I wouldn't call it a miracle drug, but thank you for that information. I actually did a PubMed search, and found several articles that a doctor would be more apt to believe than something on an internet website. I know how these people work, you show them something off a patient type website, like webMD or something, and they might consider it, but show them something from a scholarly publication, and they like it better, just because anyone can post anything on the internet, but you know if it's coming from Cancer or New England Journal of Medicine it's been reviewed, and more likely to be well received by the medical community. And it's only a short course, only a 5 day course of treatment before surgery, I don't see why anyone would have an issue with that.
