We are about 25 days from our San Juan cruise and I have run into a snag in my treatment of Crohn's disease. Right now I am on TPN which means I can't eat and have to be fed by IV. IF I have to continue to do this up to Cruise time I won't be able to cruise because I can't get the feeding bags in SanJuan and bring on ship, never mind that I simply won't want to cruise without being able to eat.
SO We have the DCL insurance on the reservation. Can anyone tell me what the process is to cancel the cruise and use the insurance? I'm pretty sure the DCL insurance doesn't include pre existing conditions which obviously I have since I have been diagnosed with Crohns for 20 years. So I assume the insurance will deny but then what happens? Does DCL give us a credit for 75%? Did I understand that correctly? Can you simply cancel for any reason and get the 75% credit?
I don't want to call DCL just yet because we are reevaluating on Jan 18th with Doc. Any advice or experience in how this will proceed should I decide I need to (or desire to) cancel?
Thanks for any information!
