Anyone have experience with Ride Max and FP+?

Hi,

I know Ride Max has a great following in DLR. And we have used it successfully there in 2013 and as recently as 2010 in WDW. But a lot has changed, and I can't find much on the web regarding FP+ and Ride Max. I'd love to hear DISer feedback before I shell out $20. There used to be features that I like better than TP (though I have renewed TP), and EasyWDW just doesn't seem to hit the rides that my little ones are most interested in.

Subscribing because I'd like to know as well. I've used Ride Max in the past and like you, enjoyed some of their features better than TPs, but I'm leery because their website doesn't appear to be updated.

ETA: I just saw that the copyright date on their website is 2011.

Yeah. I missed that. Seems if they'd updated they would be advertising that it was new and improved. I see more recent reviews from DLR.

Their web app is updated, but apparently they haven't updated their marketing Although the part about "gathering FPs" might apply to DL, since I don't think DL has FP+ yet. RideMax sells a version for both DL and WDW.

I used their web app November 2013 and April 2014, and it incorporates FP+ very well. Their plans schedule the FP+ selections so that you can have adjacent 1-hour windows (example Splash Mountain at 9:50 and BTM at 10:05, which means a SM FP window of 9-10 and BTM of 10-11).

Worked like a charm both times. During spring break we rode the following between 9am-11am, with wait times less than 10-15 min:
Jungle Cruise
Aladdin
POTC
SM
BTM
BTM (2nd time)
SM (2nd time)
Haunted Mansion

Do you see anything effective-sounding for A&E or SDMT? TP wants me to ride standby for both at rope drop and forego any times I enter for FP+ in favor of FP+ for PP, ETWB, and others (we don't do the mountains).

Does it suggest what time your FP+ should be? Have you compared it with TP?

With RideMax you choose the 3 FPs (I would use mesaboy's list as a guide). To me A&E is a FP must. You can experiment with different combinations of FPs for your other two, and see which RideMax plan gives you the lowest overall wait times.

RideMax has SDMT as a FP, but not A&E, so after (if) you get a FP for A&E, in RideMax I would block out 30 minutes as an "A&E FP" break and then select only 2 FPs.

Not sure when you're going, but if you're more than 60 days out, you might want to set your alarm for 11:55 pm before Day 60 to get A&E FPs at midnight.

If you're less than 60 days out, and can't get them for your MK day, then block out 2 hours in the afternoon as standby. Josh at easywdw suggests going at 1pm rather than rope drop.

Does it suggest what time your FP+ should be? Have you compared it with TP?

Yes, RideMax suggests FP times. Generally it puts your non-FP headliner rides as standby early in the morning, then your FP rides late morning or early afternoon (subject to the times that you will be in each park).

Kudos to Mr. Winters for reading the message boards and responding to customer concerns. I will definitely use RideMax again.

That is great! We have used Ride Max a lot in the past and I would love to be able to continue that with MDE and FP+.
