I'm talking something big with a permanent pole and rim in concrete or asphalt. We have a huge backyard and DS and his friends would shoot hoops 24 hours a day. Who installs these? What is better-concrete or asphalt?
What size court should we install? What did you learn that I can benefit from learning from you? Thanks in advance!!!

good grief, am I on my own? I rarely do anything without DIS advice! lol!
Just thought I'd bump it one time.

A cement contractor came and did ours. They put up the hoop and pole and did the court. I found a stencil for the "lines" and painted it with the yellow paint that they use to line roads. It held up really well, too.

I have no advice however let me know when it's done my DD would LOVE to shoot hoops 24 hours a day and has no one here who would even care to do that!;)

lol, my son is 14 and has been raised to consider girls competitors on level ground so tell your DD to bring her game. I'll let you know when it's up!!! We can have a basketball camp. We have a pool table and slot car track in the basement so there's lots to do-oh, and a few video game consoles too.

My daughter is 13 (uh oh) ;) and let me tell you -she will bring her game!:lmao:Basketball is her passion. Where she got the talent I have no idea. I have parents and coaches from the teams we play coming up to us all the time about how good she is. Our schools 7/8 boys coach said she wants to have my DD play on their team:rotfl:

She would be right in her glory at your house;)she can bring her gas scooter and electric pocket rocket motorcycle. Not to mention her mini ski doo.

...yes I did say she was my daughter;)

Good luck with the court!! I want to see pics when it's done.

We have a cement slab with the basketball hoop set in the cement but living in Vermont the slab has cracked due to the winter and frost. She still loves it though!
