We finally earned enough frequent flyer miles to get a round trip to Orlando. But I've heard that those seats go fast. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about getting the best deal, or getting the flights I really want?

Also consider flying into Tampa (TPA) or Daytona Beach (DAB); you have about an 1:15 ride from those airports, but there might be better FF flight availability.

Definately book as early as possible. I am a FF on American and tried booking 2.5 months in advance with no availability at that time! It can be hard...

I don't know if Continental airlines does this but if they are like American they may allow you to post your miles towards a vacation package rather than just the airfare (AA calls it AAVacations)...

Just a thought.

Book 11 months out. (I am not joking)

Generally you can book 331 days in advance. If you know that far in advance, book your flight to MCO 331 days in advance have them put it on hold and when it's time for the return book the return and process the ticket.'

Now if you don't know 331 days book as SOON as you know. Be flexible, try to avoid Monday am, Friday pm. THey think they can sell those tickets to business travelers like me and don't give as many freebies.

The number of free seats is a closely held secret, but it's less then the number of folks wanting to use the free tickets.

absolutely book as soon as you can. We have two free tickets on midwest express. Our trip is in the end of January. Wanted to get out on the first flight . They only have one seat available in that catagory. We can get out but we have a 4 hour lay over in Milwaukee causing us to get in at 6:30 at night. Now I am hoping to hit an airfare sale to Milwaukee. Sometimes they have 99 dollar sales for that market ( I believe) I would pay that to be able to get in early afternoon. I could get to Milwaukee the night before but because you never know about the weather I dont want one of us to go and not the other.
