My store had 1 more se270d and by the time I got there it was sold. :( I was really looking forward to getting it after I read the se270 thread. I know its an older model and its now discontinued.
So does anyone have the 400? Can you use the disney cards on it? Likes/dislikes?
Thanks any information would be greatly appreciated!

I bought my daughter a Brother Innov-is 900D that has Disney patterns already on it. Although we have not used it to embroidery yet, it does sew fantastically and has a ton of stitches. There are also a bunch of embroidery features and yes, you can download more from a computer. I think I paid $600, but the local sewing center threw in a some freebies. It's definitely well reviewed. I checked them out before buying it. I had previously owned a Singer and was going to go that route. Problem is, the Singer machines did not have very good reviews.

My wife and I just went all over the big city today looking at the sewing center, fabric stores, and two Wal-marts at sewing/embroidery machines. We ended up with the SE-400 because the second Wal-mart had it for $389 compared to the sewing center with the SE-350 at $399 and the 900D at $699 (with no freebies :sad2: ). We are thinking it should be really good for the price and size, and it includes the USB cord for downloading designs unlike the 350 that has to use (we are told very expensive) memory cards. The SE-400 box says it can also use the memory cards, but we think downloading through the USB should be much cheaper.

But, take all this with a grain of salt since we have never used a sewing or embroidery machine before, and have just been doing internet research and listening to the sales spiel at the sewing store. :confused3
