Anyone have Booking Pre-Nights problem?

We booked nights and lights almost two weeks ago. We booked two prenights and two postnights (well... we thought we did...). It was the replacement for egypt, so they took care of everything...

Earlier this week, we called just to make sure... we hadn't ACTUALLY gotten the replacement paperwork yet... it was a bit concerning...

DH called and found out that we have the first pre-night in the bag... (TWO days before the adventure) but somehow we didn't have the second pre-night... they overbooked ONE prenight people and... um... didn't take that into account when they told us we could get two.

We have been waiting (patiently??? maybe) for the PROMISED call backs... that for some FUNNY reason didn't happen two weeks ago... and now don't happen again. I wait until after the promised call is already late and call them... and sit on hold (at least it is good hold music) for a while and then find out that someone will GUARENTEED call us back.... <insert future date here>... seems they have an EENSIE problem with booking more rooms than they bought and are having to try to buy the room outside of the contract... oh... but there won't be any problem with that...

for two weeks?

Has anyone else had issues with having booked rooms that didn't actually quite exist? Not that I'm not totally trusting... but... I would like to know if anyone else has been in similar situation and actually gotten the promised rooms and if they had to pay a boatload more for the 'out of contract' room (cost passed on to unsuspecting customer kind of thing)...

Thanks for any help anyone can be...

this does happen from time to time and in your situation, I would kindly ask from A.B.D. to mail to you what is known as a "walk letter" and ask them what is the name of the hotel that have made special arrangements for (if they see there is still no resolution).

Sounds like you will be checking in and out and then in again but at a different hotel unless there is a last minute cancelation; thus bumping you into good standing....which is what I think ABD is trying to do....thus leaving you in the dark until the very last possible moment.

Good luck and please let us know how this turns out. Ya got me curious.popcorn::
