A year ago today was our very first day ever in WDW---I miss it and want to go back so badly!! DH isn't fond of Disney so I have a feeling it will be a long time before we can go back even with all of the hints the kids and I have been dropping!
Anyone have any pics they can share of WDW during the holidays? I'd love to see them if you have any :goodvibes ..........

Who says he has to go with you?

My DH loves Disney, not as much as me, but he enjoys going.

Sorry your DH does not feel the same.
Maybe if you start saving and planning, he will get the hint.

Lisa

P.S. I have not been in 3 years, so we are really going to enjoy ourselves this time. Our DD cannot go with us, she is 20 and could not get time off work. So, our next time won't be for probably 4 more years, after she graduates college.

Here are some pictures I took last night at Epcot. I hope you enjoy them!

Bonnie.. I know how you feel to have someone who doesnt enjoy Disney like you do.. My BF absolutely does not like Disney.. He and I did go together in 2002.. but not sure I can get him to go back.. Me and my DD7 went in September and I think we will be doing separate trips this year.. every year we go on 2 trips, 1 with just him and me for an adult trip and then a family trip.. We already have our adult trip planned but it looks like me and my 3 kiddos will be traveling to WDW by ourselves next year and he and his 2 children will perhaps go somewhere.. We have a Six Flags here that me and the kids go to quite a bit since we have season passes and he keeps saying "it just like SF and thats right here".. :rolleyes1 Please.... He just doesnt get it..

Feralpeg.. your pictures are wonderful! Thanks.

Thank you ever so much for sharing your pictures Feralpeg!! :goodvibes Who was the guest speaker at the Candlelight Processional? Just looking at the pics makes me smile :)
As much as I would love to go....we live so terribly far from Disney it would be hard to go on our own without DH!

Would he really not go with all of you in the future? Seems a bit selfish to me. I do all sorts of things I rather not do to make my kids happy. That doesn't make me special by any means, just seems to me to come with the job description of "father."

Haley Joel Osment was the narrator. We were far enough back that it was hard to get a good picture of him. He did a good job. DD got a kick out of seeing him. He's let his hair get long.

Boston Tea Party---thanks, I love pictures! Is that one of the displays I've heard people talk about at the resorts? Wherever it is, it's amazing......Wow!
I don't think DH would let us go by ourselves since it is so very far but if he did come he would definately let us all know he wasn't enjoying it--then it wouldn't be as much fun! It's easier for me to pout on the DIS then to have him pout at WDW! :teeth:
We used to go to Disneyland all the time---he couldn't understand why our family kept going back to the "same place" all the time...he proposed to me in front of the castle at night under the twinkling lights in Disneyland...I thought he was starting to "warm up" to Disney but I was wrong! He's like "been there, done that, why go back!" my reasoning of "because its Disney" doesn't work well!

He'd be great to see, he was such a cutie...can't imagine him with longer hair though

Hope these couple help a bit. I'll have more when I get home.

And it was great to see you and Kendall the other day, Peg. :wave2:

My husband doesn't particularly like WDW and he's probably only been 4 times in the last 12 years. DS and I have only missed one year though. I even drove once all the way from north Texas without him! :)

I was there last year at this time too. Check out this great thread from the theme parks board.

Pssst..You CAN go! You are an adult! ;) Nobody has to "let" you do anything.

We were at WDW this at this time last year too. I would love to be there again, but we like to go for 10 days and we need another year of saving to make that happen.

Maybe you can do something that DH enjoys this year and go to WDW next year, especially if the kids enjoy it.

Ok, off topic but there is something so not right about Christmas decorations, people walking around in shorts and flowers blooming. I just couldn't get into the mood of Christmas with that. This is "Christmas" here.

Empower yourself! Early in our marriage when DH let me know that Disney just was and OK thing to do, I had to decide if I wanted 4 or 5 years to go by between trips or if the kids and I would go more often. Yeah, I thought about that for about 5 seconds. :teeth:

So on 3 occasions I took myself and 3 "cute" teenagers and down we went. Only the first trip was a bit scary. The rest.. everyone knew the drill.

I don't know how old your children are. Really young, like under 7 or 8, it would be tough. But with careful planning it is possible and even enjoyable.

BTW, at the time I lived in Massachusetts which is 1300 miles from WDW. :)

Here's a couple of photos I took the other day.

Thanks everyone for sharing, your pics have definately put a smile on my face!
Although we'd love to be able to just "pick up and go" to WDW without him because a couple of our kids are too scared to fly and it is approx. a 33 hour drive! :moped: :moped: :moped:
( We love him dearly but just don't understand why he isn't obsessed with Disney when I could spend every minute there :teeth: )

but if he did come he would definately let us all know he wasn't enjoying it--

How old is he? Sounds like he's 7. You love WDW...the kids love WDW...and he rather pout than enjoy his family having fun?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You have no idea how many times I have said that to him! :rotfl2:
His idea of a holiday is going to Hawaii and laying on the beach all day tanning or snorkeling---not exactly action packed if you ask us! Now Rock n' Roller Coaster is our idea of fun!
