Anyone have an upright/canister convertible vacuum?

What do you think of it?
We have a ranch style house with hardwood floors w/area rugs on the main floor; fully carpeted basement, carpeted stairs. I also would like to use it on the linonlium (sp) floors & ceiling fans.

Would this be a good choice?
