I use Roxio to make DVD slideshows w/ music. I'm working on 4 right now, one for our Cub Scout Pack, one for Dustin's Eagle Scout Ceremony, 1 for ourselves w/ our Disney pics and one for Carl, just because. I did the same last year for the Pack and also one this spring for DSO when her dad died (they played it at his funeral).
Its wasn't free, about $50.00 last year when I bought it, but I have used it plenty and love it.
Of course I'm sure someone here will have a better suggestion, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents....so this thread doesn't go centless....(ha, ha, ha).
YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOO RIGHT!! We moved from the DC metro area, always top 3 in the nation in worst drivers, and I tell you, South FLORIDA is so much worse!!! These people are TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! If it isnt a darn tourist, it is some old lady who cant see over the steering wheel, some jerk cutting you off, etc.
If you use Windows, there is a program on there called "MovieMaker", which is what I usually use. You d not need to spend any money. If you have a Mac, the program is "iMovie". Both are excellent and, once you get going, pretty easy to use.
I'm glad you were able to get good results with Movie Maker. I found it more bothersome to use than (for me) it was worth. Just shows that there is a product out there for everybody, and somebody for every product.
I used a program called Studio (Version 9) to create a slide show with music a few years ago. I'm sure i'ts been updated since but I found it very easy to use (a little bit of a learning curve). Lot's of transitions, drag and drop stuff. Plus a lot of advanced features if you want to get more into it. I think I either bought it for <$50 or it came free with the video card. http://www.pinnaclesys.com
I use photostory it was a free download when I got it I believe it still is it lets you fix photos and has different transitions from pic to pic as well as letting you add music or you can do your own voice over if you have a mic as well as text. Pretty in depth for a free program.
