Anyone have a stove with...

a grill top? Some stoves have burners that can be taken out and the grill top put in for indoor grilling. Just wanted to know what brand you have and your thoughts about it.

We have one.. our current stove top and vent hood are really old and we are looking to replace them. We do have the grill top in the middle and a griddle you can switch it out with to make pancakes on (very handy!)

I'm not crazy about the grill part in the middle, to me it's hard to clean if you are making something like hamburgers. (I'd rather have DH make them on the outdoor grill anyway :lol ) It's not bad if you just want to grill up some veggies though. And I do like the griddle, I can fit more on it than in the frying pan and it has a little lip that you can slide all of the crummies into while your cooking.

We were looking at new stove tops last weekend and the guy at the store said that if we got one that had the grill in the middle we would have to also get the"professional" vent hood, because of the amount of BTU's the grill part puts out. Which for us, meant that rather than getting a vent for $300, we'd have to get the vent that costs almost as much as the stove top!!

I don't know what we're going to do... We finally have a yard with a real grill, so I think we really don't need the grill in the stove top. But if you live in a place where you can't have a grill, I would go for it! We lived in the city for many years and weren't able to have a grill, it would have been nice to make our own hamburgers

Had a Jenn air grill top in one of the houses that we built. Wouldn't do it again. It was quite a mess. We lived in Texas at the time and it was better to just grill outside. If I lived where you couldn't grill year round then I would buy a George Foreman grill...it is cheaper and a lot easier to clean.
