Anyone have a son with BIG FEET???

I know there is a store on Mitchell St. in downtown Atlanta named Friedman's. I remember reading about Shaq's mom buying his shoes from there since they specialize in larger sizes.

I hope my son's feet stop growing. He's 14 and wears an 11. The sad part about having boys is that they can continue to grow until they're around 21.

My JUST turned 11 year old DD is already wearing a womens size 12....or mens size 10 1/2 if the womens sneakers aren;t wide enpugh for basketball...she is already 5'9".......and still growing.....DH is 6'8" and I am 5'8"so They think she will be at least 6'....we have great luck at Zappos.com

My DD is 11 and 5'5, she wears a womens size 13 1/2. I hope her feet stop growing soon.

I love this thread! I'm 5'2" and wear a size 10. You guys make me feel like I have small feet. :lmao:

Hey Robin - Your son should take up skiing. He could save a bundle on ski rentals!

Oh, that's right...you don't have snow. Water skiing?

Good luck to you.

DS13 wears 14 EEEE. I think we will be jumping to 15s this summer. :scared1: It has been New Balance for years and years. I order them online now that I know that Brand is good for him. He needs good hiking boots for Philmot next summer. Luckily New Balance has a brand that makes hiking boots.

I have my fingers crossed that his feet will stop SOON.

Katy

Just wanted to add... I had my younger two boys measuered yesterday...they are both measuring men's size 8, but need 8.5 for growth... They are 11 and 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girl, forget SHOES and just lace up the BOXES! :scared1:

:lmao:

I remember that whenever we looked at new cars to buy, we had to bring him along to make sure his big feet fit in the back seat.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: You guys are KILLING me!!!!!

GREAT ideas!!! I will check out all the sources. It's so HARD to think of my son as a MAN, which is what I think about when people say Nordstrums or Freidmans.... ... I remember buying him BARNEY shoes!!! What happened to my BABEEEEE??????? :sad1:

Looks like I have lots of choices now... I love the DIS!

He's only 5'7" tall but still growing... he was 5'6 two weeks ago! :lmao:

I've considered online but he wondered if they'd FEEL right... since he has to wear them before even considering them.. :confused3 I did find some on eBay but don't know if they will fit right.

Wow, that is big feet for such a short kid. My just turned 16 yo son is 6'5" with size 14 feet.

Try Dick's Sporting Goods if you have one near you. We've always had good luck there.

Oh Robin, girl I feel for you!! My DS just turned 12 last Friday. He is 5'6'' and wears a 13 :scared1:
When the heck did kids feet start getting so big???
I hate buying shoes for the kid, we can never find a pair that fits just right.

I don't think they have them in Atlanta, I know they are in other places in Georgia, but Academy sporting goods is another possible source.

My 12 year old wears a size 12. My DH didn't wear a 12 when we got married, he does now. I am afraid of how big they are gonna get.

I am the same height and wear the same size. I thought I was the only one with monster feet at this height.

Where do you buy their shoes???

My 15yo son ... omg... wears a size 15E. :scared1: His shoe size has followed his age every year since he was 10.

My sister, God bless her, has taken over the bi yearly job of buying his athletic shoes.... now we can't find that size anywhere.

Any ideas? :confused3

btw, my sister wears a 5 1/2 and I wear a 6... you can tell we have NO EXPERIENCE in this!! :lmao:

I can't help, but I think I will be in your boat in just a few years. My DS turned 9 in January and wears a size 7 1/2 in mens and he is over 5' tall.

His father was his height at that age, he shot up to 6feet by 17 and then stopped because of an illness. His grandmother is 6 feet and all the men in his family are over 6'5... I think he's getting ready for a spurt... :scared1:

My DS14 wears a size 13 (he is 5'6"). DS10 wears a size 8 (4'8"). DH only wears a 10 1/2:confused3

We buy most of our shoes at Dicks. I was so excited the other day we went to Dick's and they had shoes on clearance. My DS14 found a pair of soccer cleats in Black and Gold (his new school colors). What are the chances????

DS's feet have been big since birth.DGamma crotcheted (sp?) him some booties and he never got to wear them because his feet were already too big for them when he was born. It's like looking at a puppy and seeing these HUGE paws and knowing that when they are an adult they are going to be ginormous.:rotfl:

Some Dicks are bigger than others so if you can't find it in one try another or look online.

Nordstroms is another great place and where my son buys all of his dress shoes. They have excellent shoe sales. :thumbsup2

My parents used to call my son's feet Barney Rubble feet....:rotfl:

They say kids have to 'grow into' their feet, which kind of scares me a little.:rotfl: He's already on the tall side of avg for his age group and I keep picturing him being in like 3rd or 4th grade and being taller than me (I'm five foot five).:rotfl:
