Anyone have a son with BIG FEET???

Thanks Robin I have been meaning to look into those for awhile now. There is one in the next town over DS cant wait to go now!

FYI - most of the online shoe places like Zappo, shoebuy, onlineshoes offer free return shipping if you want to return the shoe. It's pretty easy.

DS is 10 and wears an 11 1/2 right now, so I'm sure I'm headed for the same trouble lol.

Wow!! Welcome to the crowd! And he is such a cutie!! :cloud9:

My younger brother is the tallest of my 4 blood brothers, but only by a few inches. The males in my family are all tall and big. I'm almost 6ft myself.

I also have a major shoe problem. I wear an 8 EEE now try to find those!:rotfl:

I'm 4feet 11 1/2 ... even when my son was TWO the pediatrician asked me "where did he get his height because he DEFINITELY didn't get it from YOU!" :lmao:

He is the polar opposite of me in every way, very fair, taller, kinder, gentler.... I want to be more LIKE HIM!!!... except the FEET!!

The Starbury's? Let me know if you like them!

Thanks! I have no problem returning things it's just that he needs some shoes now. He's in his swim shoes, dress shoes and sandals now.. outgrew the last pair of athletic shoes and he has a job in landscaping with the HOA.

I saw that the payless around here went to size 15/16. (I was just there yesterday)

I also want to second the Shoe Dept. I was there yesterday as well.

I had no idea they went to that size. Since he needs a pair quickly I'll check it out! Thanks, Cindy!

I ordered some shoes for my dad when I was in New Orleans.

It was from endless shoes http://www.endless.com/?tag=endlesscj-20

They do free overnight shipping. I placed the order about 3pm and had them delivered by 11 am the next morning!

All of my brother's have picked women about your size as wifes. But it must be a dominate gene, as my nieces and nephews are all big and tall.

I had a lady stop me on the street one day and ask me what part of Eastern Europe I was from. HUH!? :confused3 She said that from my build and features, she would have sworn I was from Eastern Europe.

will do

Dh and I both have cousins that are around the 7 ft mark. DH is 6 ft and I am 5'5" I thought that it might skip us but apparently not lol Cam is already taller than I am, that just happened in the last 6 or 7 weeks. :scared1:

We were told when he was a baby that he would probably be like my brother 5'9" to 5'10" and stocky. I was hoping he would be around 6 ft and it looks like we are well on target to exceed that now. Up until the last few weeks he has had the tennis player build lanky but solid. Now he is starting to fill in shoulder wise too.

Funny how these things happen all of a sudden isnt it?

My son doesn't have that problem yet, hopefully we can bypass that one. However, his DAD ... now that is another story. He takes a 15 or is it a 16, can't really remember, I just know that he has a heck of a time finding any kind of shoe as do I since I have JUMBO feet as well. LOL !! Good luck in your search !

That's Stephon Marbury... I checked and the only store in Georgia is in Savannah! That's a thought, though, the shoes are cheap enough to buy online and not care if they don't fit!!

I don't like the Marburys. I bought my son a pair and they wore down in about a week and a half. Not only did they wear through the sole all the way to the edge of the shoe. It wasn't worth the money even though I was only out $10-15. It wasn't worth it and I haven't bought anything from them since.

My son is hard on his shoes but he does other shoes fine. He needs thicker sole shoes like Vans.

You don't have a Steve and Barry's near you? I have two near me.

My 14 year old DS wears a size 14, but I'm pretty sure that his feet have stopped growing. He hasn't, just the feet. He's 6'3" and I'm expecting another 3 or 4 inches at least.

I buy almost all of his shoes online because it is so frustrating shopping and seeing everything stop at a 12 or 13. Shoebuy is my favorite site.

I think I"m seeing my future here Robin and I'm not liking it!!!:scared1:
As of last week my 9 yo wears a mens size 9 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have been buying his shoes at "Steve and Barrys" because they dont cost much and at the rate he's ging thru them I cant see spending much. (The "Starberries" are supposedly made by the same factory and Nike...) I have noticed, thankfully, that the sizes go up QUITE high...

Not sure they have Steve and Barries there though, we drive 75 miles to get to one (when my sister and I want to go outlet shopping too -we combine the trip....) though, one is coming to Richmond soon!:thumbsup2 :yay: :woohoo:

Good luck with that - ack!

edited to add - I wrote too soon, I see that these have been mentioned already - well, goodluck and let us know what you find that works well.

All 3 of my sons wear size 14 and have since the beginning of high school.

I feel your pain only I am the one with the big feet. Depending on the shoe I wear either a 15 or a 16 and have since I was a sophomore in High School. Fortunately since then it has gotten much easier to find shoes in my size (and I just realized that it has been 20 years since I was a sophomore OUCH), but it can still be a challenge. The places that I have the best luck are...

Shoe Carnival - this is a shoe store chain and some have a "big guy" area, the one near my inlaws usually has a few styles up to size 18 (store is 400 miles from home in Evansville, Indiana but I get there once or twice a year when we visit)

Nike Outlet - again not a great selection but we have 2 of them within about 50 miles of home and both have some

Sierra Trading Post (http://www.sierratradingpost.com/) which is kind of like an online outlet mall - can be very hit and miss on styles and sizes but is easily searched and often you can find good prices.

Good Luck and feel free to send me a PM if there is anything else I can help with on this.

Girl, forget SHOES and just lace up the BOXES! :scared1:

:lmao:

Have you tried Foot Locker? They were willing to order shoes for us and have them shipped to the store (no shipping charge). If they felt bad you wouldn't have to buy them. :thumbsup2

Robin,

Have you tried BENNIES SHOES in Buckhead? From what I understand they specialize in "ginormous". They're located in the Buckhead Crossing shopping center which is at Piedmont and Sidney Marcus... where the Marshalls and Michael's is and close to the new Target, Best Buy, etc. which are at Lindburgh and Piedmont. There's also a Payless in that shopping center.

Mary

They aren't cheap, but Nordstroms has a great selection of big shoes, they go all the way to 20s I believe. They have them in store or you can get free shipping online.

Where do you buy their shoes???

My 15yo son ... omg... wears a size 15E. :scared1: His shoe size has followed his age every year since he was 10.

My sister, God bless her, has taken over the bi yearly job of buying his athletic shoes.... now we can't find that size anywhere.

Any ideas? :confused3

btw, my sister wears a 5 1/2 and I wear a 6... you can tell we have NO EXPERIENCE in this!! :lmao:

My oldest son wears a size 15 in sneakers. I had no trouble finding his size in Sports Authority or Foot Locker.

I remember that whenever we looked at new cars to buy, we had to bring him along to make sure his big feet fit in the back seat.

DS13 is about 5' 2" tall and wears a men's 10 1/2 already. He is string bean skinny with those boats for feet. It is funny. We hope he grows into those feet someday because he really wants to play basketball at Notre Dame. He hasn't has his middle school growth spurt yet so time will tell how tall he will be. DD13 wears a woman's size 10 shoe. Kids just have big feet these days.
