Anyone have a registered domain/web address?

Does anyone here have their own website and their domain registered? Where's a good site to register a name - that is a reasonable rate? I dont want to get ripped off!

Also, if you already have a website, how do you change its address to the registered domain address?

We used aplus hosting but I think they would expect you to host your site with them too. www.aplus.net

Yes, I've got a few addresses registered and used.

I've been transferring all my domains to www.godaddy.com. They've got good rates and a nice interface.

I'm not sure what you mean about "how do you change an address". Are you saying you have a site with your local ISP that looks like this:

www.someispaddress.com/~goofygirl

And want to make it

www.goofygirl.com

???

I have been using www.worldzone.net and am pleased with them. I do have a domain, www.dmurphydis.com.

I registered many moons ago (Ok... 1996) with Network Solutions when they were the only ones around. I use XO for hosting. I've also used Register.com for registering domains. They are honest and charge $35 per year.

Not to sound like a commercial, but www.godaddy.com charges $8.95 a year (and lower) for registering and they're pretty honest too. I think $35 a year is price gouging cause they have them name, IMHO.

And like Dan, I also use www.worldzone.net for hosting, in addition to my own server at home.
