Has anyone ever had their reception dinner at the California Grill? I saw a great private room when we were there and the food was INCREDIBLE!!!!

We had our reception dinner here, but we only had an intimate so just booked a table at the restaurant for six people. They didn't seat us in the main restaurant there was a small elegant room at the back which had 2 largish tables in, my party was on one and then about 3/4 of the way though our evening another set of diners arrived. Its a lovely restaurant, the food was wonderful, i got a special chocolate thing from the restaurant as congratulations. Its good also as you can watch the fireworks from MK and they pipe the music in too.

HI,

Check out www.party.pics.com - password gfox. There were really good pictures of a reception held in I think the Napa Room (the one that looks at MK). It looked really wonderful. I don't remember the wedding name and I hope they are still there, but they could give you a good idea of the room.

We toured the Napa and Sonoma rooms in July and if we weren't having a Christmas Theme VR, I would probably use one of those rooms for my reception. The food is soooo fantastic at CG.

Good Luck!

DD had her reception in the Napa and Sonoma rooms - one for cocktails and one for dinner - I can never remember which room is which, but the one for cocktails faced the back of the Contemporary Resort, floor to ceiling windows, view of the water, quite beautiful! The Napa room is more on the side of the hotel, same floor to ceiling windows, view of the MK overlooking Space Mountain and you can definitely see the castle. The rooms were beautifully decorated - we had 32 people - and there was plenty of room for the DJ and dance floor. DD and her DH had a small sweetheart table just for them, linens were ivory striped and ivory chair covers, flowers were simply beautiful and reflected her colors of red and white, accented with black and gold. Her cake was iced in ivory fondant which a white chcolate castle on top - cherry nut cake with Frangelica flavored buttercream filling - on a small table scattered with the rose petals from the bridesmaids' bouquets (fire and ice roses) and decorated with the favor boxes (whiite with gold ribbon - the favors were Cinderella slippers on red pillows made of glass which came from Arribas Brothers in the parks). They filled in any empty spaces in the room with ficus trees with little white lights on them. She had a brunch reception so there weren't any people in the restaurant when they arrived, but there were when she left. One of the best parties we have ever had - Micky and Minnie came in their wedding outfits and danced with the group for quite a long time - we did the "Mickarena"!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to add, the room one of the previous posters mentioned as being in the back and having only a few tables in it is probably the Wine Room - we had dinner in here once when we were a party of 6 and there was another party of maybe 10-12 in the room - so it definitely would be good for someone having an intimate with up to 20 guests for dinner - kind of library-like, with wine-like decor, lots of wood, etc. Very pretty. :wave2:

Hi. I'm not married yet but have plans to marry at the Wedding Pavillion in December 2006. My DH2B proposed to me at the California Grill and we had a seat overlooking the Castle, and right before the fireworks went off he proposed. The food, the view, and the service there was excellent.

Me tooo!!!! We had the greatest meal there. I'm sure it costs a fortune, but it would be a great place-I will be looking into it.
