Hi I have Mini Cooper S, it is silver with a black roof, I love it and would definitely buy another. I dont like the price of the tyres :rotfl2:

We have a mini cooper s. We bought it about 3 years ago and just love it. We have the indi blue with a white top. When we first bought it we became involved with the local mini club and would meet up and drive with them. IT was a good way to get to know the in's and out's of the car but more for my husband than for me. We had trouble when we first had our son because a rear facing baby seat did not fit very well in the back, but now that we have turned it around it fits just fine. You do have a decent amount of room in the boot, expecially if you can fold the seats down for something big. We usually get about 32 mpg but have had as high as 40 (in yellowstone park). We are planning on getting a new mini in a couple years once we are out of warrenty (sp?) period.

We wish that we had choosen the leather seat covers instead of fabric they would have been easier to clean. Also while I liked the brushed metal like interior I would now have gone with something else.

I understand that newer models have a different steering wheel and come stock with more cup holders so that might work out better for you. We installed a shelf that goes under the dash infront of the driver, it gives just a little more space for things like cd's and glasses. THe new mini's that are out have a BMW engine and might have a little more power than ours per my husband. And mood lighting, you will be able to change the color of the lights inside the car.

It works great for driving around the city and handles turns well. I tent to speed a little too much in it. If you want to know anything else let me know my husband is a mini freak and would be able to handle any question you have so PM me if you like.

One word of warning not every dealer is alike. We drive 3 hours south 1 hour past the nearest dealer because the local one does not have good customer service.

We owned one; it was bright blue with a white roof, white bonnet stripes, and white wheels.

What we liked about it: the looks, great little engine (get the S model if you do buy one), retro interior styling, gas mileage.

Why we got rid of it: as fun as it was to tool down long stretches of the highway with, it was NOT fun to drive in stop-and-go traffic, which my husband had to do with it nearly every day on his commute to and from work. Because it's so small and has almost no trunk, people tend to "ride up" on your bumper all the time. Quite a bit of road noise as well.

I would probably buy one again just because I think they're so cute. It just didn't suit our present lifestyle.

Do they make them in automatic transmission yet? I love them, but I can't drive a stick to save my life.

We don't have one, but my sister and her husband have one (empty nesters). They like it, but have told me that the ride is a lot rougher than their sedan (which is not surprising since their sedan is a Volvo). It's a cute little car, though. They got the one with a navigation system and if you knew them, you'd know what a good idea this is :teeth: (we have a navigation system, too, and I don't think I'll buy a primary car without one again). Their Mini is silver. If I were to get one I'd get a bright, stand out color. :cool1:

THe mini has always had an automatic option and the mini cooper S now has one I think. My DH went to work so I am not the expert he is so I could be wrong but I belive that is what he told me. We have a stick and I agree that I would prefer the automatic for rush hour.

I have an Electric Blue '05 S. I love it, and have put over 50,000 miles on it in 20 months. It does require premium gas, but I consider that a small price to pay for this much performance.

There are forums for everything from technical issues to just chat. A real fun bunch of people mostly!

My stepmom has one and she loves it. It is red with an American flag on the roof and white racing stripes on the hood. It is really cool! The only bummer lately is that it requires premium gas but she doesn't drive much so it isn't that big of a hit to the wallet.
